Drug-delivery systems (DDSs) are designed to deliver drugs their specific targets minimize toxic effects and improve susceptibility clearance during targeted transport. Peptides have high affinity, low immunogenicity, simple amino acid composition, adjustable molecular size; therefore, most peptides can be coupled via linkers form peptide-drug conjugates (PDCs) act as active pro-drugs. PDCs widely thought promising DDSs, given ability drug bio-compatibility physiological stability....
Preventing the spread of COVID-19 in long-term care homes is critical for health residents who live these institutions. As a result, broad policies restricting visits to facilities were put place internationally. While well meaning, have exacerbated ongoing social isolation crisis present prior pandemic. This perspective highlights dominant LTC from six countries, and proposes five strategies address or mitigate during pandemic that can also be applied post-pandemic world.
Multivalent nanoparticles that target a cell surface receptor is overexpressed by cancer cells are promising delivery system for therapy. However, the impact of density and nanoparticle ligand valency on uptake has not been studied in where both variables can be systematically tuned over wide range. To address this lacuna, we report cell-uptake studies genetically engineered breast line with tunable ErbB2 expression polypeptide micelle valency. We examined ErbB2-targeting micelles at 5...
In this report, the cisplatin (CDDP)-loaded gelatin/poly(acrylic acid) (GEL-PAA) nanoparticles with a spherical shape and drug loading content of 24.6% were prepared. vivo near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging ex gamma scintillation counting analyses reveal that CDDP-loaded GEL-PAA have prominent passive tumor-targeting ability nontarget can be readily excreted from body. Further, it is demonstrated to penetrate tumor after their extravasation through leaky vessels distribute in distance...
In this present study, we proposed a smart biomineralization method for creating hybrid organic–inorganic nanoflowers using Co2+-dependent enzyme (D-psicose 3-epimerase; DPEase) as the organic component and cobalt phosphate inorganic component. The prepared have many separated petals that nanometer size. Under optimum conditions (60 °C pH of 8.5), nanoflower can display its maximum activity (36.2 U/mg), which is about 7.2-fold higher than free DPEase. Furthermore, immobilized DPEase presents...
Hyaluronic acid (HA)-modified amino single-walled carbon nanotubes (NH₂-SWCNTs) were developed for targeted delivery of doxorubicin (DOX) to improve breast cancer treatment. HA, which specifically binds the CD44 receptor, was non-covalently coated on NH₂-SWCNTs through simply electrostatic adsorption. The formed SWCNTs-DOX-HA complexes characterized in terms morphology, particle size and zeta potential by different techniques. DOX loading percentage 81.5±1.0 %. In vitro release study showed...

Abstract DNA condensing agents play a critical role in gene therapy. A tetranuclear nickel(II) complex, [Ni II 4 (L−2H)(H 2 O) 6 (CH 3 CH OH) ] ⋅ 6NO (L=3,3',5,5'‐tetrakis{[(2‐hydroxyethyl)(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)amino]methyl}biphenyl‐4,4'‐diol), has been synthesized as nonviral vector to induce condensation. X‐ray crystallographic data indicate that the complex crystallizes monoclinic system with space group P 1 / n , =10.291(9), b =24.15(2), c =13.896(11) Å, and β =98.175(13)°. The...
Understanding the intracellular distribution and trafficking of nanoparticle drug carriers is necessary to elucidate their mechanisms delivery helpful in rational design novel systems. The traditional immunofluorescence method study nanoparticles using organelle-specific antibodies laborious subject artifacts. As an alternative, we developed a new that exploits ratiometric fluorescence imaging pH-sensitive Lysosensor dye visualize quantify spatial endosomes lysosomes live cells. Using this...
Antibody-based drugs have attracted much attention for their targeting ability, high efficacy and low toxicity. But it is difficult those intrabodies, a kind of antibody whose targets are intracellular biomarkers, to become effective due the lack delivery strategy short circulation time in blood. Human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), an important biomarker tumors, expressed only cytoplasm instead on cell membrane. In this study, anti-hTERT blocking monoclonal (mAb), as model...
Combination therapy with different functional drugs has been proved to be an effective strategy for cancer treatments by achieving cooperative therapeutic efficacy and reducing drug side effects. In this study, a novel combination anticancer system was designed coating silver nanoparticles in the poly(aspartic acid) (PAsp) shell of polymer micelle via situ reduction ions encapsulating doxorubicin (DOX) into micellar poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) core through hydrophobic interaction. This not...
