In this study, we investigated the volatile flavor compounds and sensory perceptions of Yanbian-style sauced beef prepared from raw meats subjected to different treatments (hot fresh, chilled, frozen beef). The results indicated that treatment significantly impacted quality beef. Sauced chilled (CRSB) exhibited highest content fatty acids total amino acids. A 48 were identified. Moreover, a relative odor activity value analysis identified hexanal, nonanal, heptanal, 1-octen-3-ol,...

Carbendazim (methyl 1H-benzimidazol-2-yl carbamate) is one of the most widely used fungicides in agriculture worldwide, but has been reported to have adverse effects on animal health and ecosystem function. A highly efficient carbendazim-degrading bacterium (strain dj1-11) was isolated from carbendazim-contaminated soil samples via enrichment culture. Strain dj1-11 identified as Rhodococcus erythropolis based morphological, physiological biochemical characters, including sequence analysis...

Abstract Background Nematodes are the most abundant and diverse metazoans on Earth, known to significantly affect ecosystem functioning. A better understanding of their biology ecology, including potential adaptations habitats lifestyles, is key response global change scenarios. Mitochondrial genomes offer high species level characterization, low cost sequencing, an ease data handling that can provide insights into nematode evolutionary pressures. Results Generally, mitochondrial exhibited...

Abstract Bursaphelenchus chengi sp. n. is described and illustrated. Dauer juveniles were isolated from imported wood packaging materials Taiwan to Nanjing Port, China. was reared maintained on Petri dish cultures of the fungus Botrytis cinerea. The new species characterised by medium body size in both sexes, presence only two incisures lateral field robust strongly curved spicules. spicule lamina angular distally, rostrum digitate condylus rounded. tail arcuate with a pointed terminus....

Abstract We report the cloning and characterisation of genes encoding expansin-like proteins from pine wood nematodes, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus B. mucronatus. A small family is present in both species are most similar to expansins potato cyst nematode Globodera rostochiensis root-knot nematodes. Molecular modelling suggests that could encode a protein with structure functionally characterised expansins. Expression analysis showed expressed solely pharyngeal gland cells, implying role...

Abstract BACKGOUND: Chinese bayberry is susceptible to microbial decay during postharvest handling and storage. To search for effective alternatives currently used fungicides disease control, the efficacy of hot air (HA) treatment at 48 °C 3 h alone or in combination with nano‐packing (NP) containing nano‐TiO 2 nano‐Ag controlling green mould caused by Penicillium citrinum natural decay, their effects on fruit quality harvested bayberries were investigated this study. RESULTS: The combined...

High-temperature and drought events significantly impact crop growth development. In the soybean-producing region of Guanzhong Plain in China, understanding dynamics these climatic phenomena is vital for soybean yield preservation. Through a fixed-position observation experiment that analyzed four stages, nine agronomic traits, per unit area from 1998 to 2023, this research evaluated characteristics high-temperature processes various stages. It also examined influence processes, their...

Meloidogyne incognita is one of the most widely distributed plant-parasitic nematodes and causes severe economic losses annually. The parasite produces effector proteins that play essential roles in successful parasitism. Here, we identified such named MiCE108, which exclusively expressed within nematode subventral esophageal gland cells upregulated early parasitic stage M. incognita. A yeast signal sequence trap assay showed MiCE108 contains a functional peptide for secretion. Virus-induced...

Accurate estimation of crop yield at the field scale plays a pivotal role in optimizing agricultural production and food security. Conventional studies have mainly focused on employing data-driven models for regional scale, while large challenges may occur when attempting to apply these methods scale. This is primarily due inherent complexity obtaining reliable ground labels validation, geographical independence correlation that exists between fields. To effectively solve this problem, study...

Suppression of root-knot nematodes is crucially important for maintaining the worldwide development banana industry. Growing concerns about human and environmental safety have led to withdrawal commonly used nematicides soil fumigants, thus motivating alternative nematode management strategies.
