BackgroundLeukaemias comprise a heterogenous group of haematological malignancies. In CONCORD-3, we analysed data for children (aged 0–14 years) and adults 15–99 diagnosed with malignancy during 2000–14 in 61 countries. Here, aimed to examine worldwide trends survival from leukaemia, by age morphology, young patients 0–24 years).MethodsWe 258 population-based cancer registries countries participating CONCORD-3 that submitted on leukaemia. We grouped as (0–14 years), adolescents (15–19 (20–24...
Abstract Background The potential ecosystem collapse of forests in Mediterranean-type ecosystems (MTEs) by unprecedented droughts is worrisome due to the impacts on its exceptional biodiversity and human well-being. However, research integrating global change drivers, forest resilience challenges facing human-nature relationships still scarce. Methods results Using central Chile megadrought recently massive browning event as a model scenario, we identified, through scientific literature...
Abstract Negative interactions between guanacos Lama guanicoe and ranchers have recently intensified in central Chile because are perceived to be competing with livestock for pasture resources. We examined this conservation conflict a novel approach that considers ranchers' subjective theories, better understand the origins of identify effective measures based on participants' explanations. Our findings indicate see source current problem shift towards increasingly arid conditions associated...
Gender plays an important role in human–wildlife coexistence. Women have their own distinct form of environmental knowledge; women shape attitudes and perceptions related to wildlife influence the use natural spaces nature interactions. Being a female farmer or practitioner involved conflict mitigation poses variety obstacles benefits. The way conservation conflicts are perceived managed is gendered, this needs be taken into account when working with local communities achieve effective...

Abstract Ecosystem collapse in direct response to climate change is a critical but poorly documented phenomenon. By assessing the context and productivity trends Mediterranean ecosystems worldwide, we found large-scale, abrupt forest decline Chile (>90% <100 days) as sustained, acute drought unprecedented recent history of Mediterranean-type ecosystems. These extreme conditions were projected for 2070-2090, suggesting that impacts are accelerating.
Purpose Human-wildlife conflicts worldwide are arising, representing significant challenges for conservation biologists, decision-makers, and agropastoralist communities. Extreme climatic events, disease outbreaks, land-use change could be intensifying these conflicts. The multi-species mountainous landscapes seem prone to due a lack of territory planning. These complex, dynamic, multi-layered require multidimensional approach. Currently, in Chile, have several threats, such as planning,...
