Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and consequent acute coronary syndromes (ACS) are substantial contributors to morbidity mortality across Europe. Much of these diseases burden is modifiable, in particular by lipid-lowering therapy (LLT). Current guidelines based on the sound premise that with respect low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), "lower better for longer", recent data have strongly emphasized need also "the earlier better". In addition statins, which been...

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and consequent acute coronary syndromes (ACS) are substantial contributors to morbidity mortality across Europe. Current guidelines based on the sound premise that, with respect low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), "lower better for longer", recent data have strongly emphasised need also "the earlier better". We found increased systolic coronary flow in transthoracic pulsed wave (PW) Doppler a 42-year-old patient with anomalous origin of left main artery from the pulmonary artery. This is characteristic echocardiographic finding this anomaly presence collateral circulation and L–R shunt. In comparison so far used criteria parameter when present allows quick recognition artery, its differentiation other potentially lethal anomalies.

Objectives: Inherited cardiac arrhythmias are life-threatening syndromes that often occur in young people and characterized by palpitations, syncope, an increased risk of sudden death. The etiology can be ion-channel dysfunctions as well structural heart disease.Common features single gene mutations produce the dysfunction, autosomal-dominant inheritance, incomplete penetrance variable expressivity.Inherited show marked genetic heterogeneity having multiple types sites mutation.Genetic...

Abstract Background and aim Diabetes mellitus (DM) is related to higher rates of complications after coronary revascularization.1 The efficiency drug-coated balloon (DCB) percutaneous intervention (PCI) has been shown for in-stent restenosis (ISR) native small-vessel disease, however data on outcomes in DM scarce. 2 compare the incidence target lesion at follow-up (FUP) angiography patients with without receiving DCB PCI. Material methods registry included undergoing a PCI our university...

Cardiologia CROATICA Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) is the preferred reperfusion strategy for treating acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The main goals are to restore epicardial infarct-related artery (IRA) patency and achieve microvascular as early possible, thus limiting extent of irreversibly injured myocardium. Unfortunately, in many patients perfusion remains poor despite successful restoration IRA patency. lack adequate a given segment after...
