Abstract The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is approaching their Shockley‐Queisser (S‐Q) limit through numerous efforts in key parameters improvement. To further the limit, it important to facilitate fill factor (FF), a parameter closely related carrier transport and nonradiative recombination. Herein, an interfacial bridging strategy proposed improve FF, which utilizes functional graphene quantum dots at tin oxide (SnO 2 )/perovskite buried interface. As...

Importance Bietti crystalline dystrophy (BCD) is a severe genetic retinopathy caused by variants in the CYP4V2 gene. Currently, there no approved treatment for BCD. Objective To evaluate safety and vision outcomes following gene therapy with adeno-associated virus (AAV) encoding (rAAV-hCYP4V2, NGGT001 [Next Generation Gene Therapeutics]). Design, Setting, Participants This open-label, dose-escalation nonrandomized clinical trial was conducted from February 2023 to May 2024 at 2 study sites...

In this study, we developed curcumin-encapsulated hyaluronic acid-polylactide nanoparticles (CEHPNPs) to be used for liver fibrosis amelioration. CD44, the acid (HA) receptor, is upregulated on surface of cancer cells and activated hepatic stellate (aHSCs) rather than normal cells. CEHPNPs could bind CD44 internalized effectively through endocytosis release curcumin, a poor water-soluble protective agent. Thus, were potentially not only improving drug efficiency, but also targeting aHSCs. HA...

Abstract Dominant mutations in the mitochondrial paralogs coiled-helix-coiled-helix (CHCHD) domain 2 (C2) and CHCHD10 (C10) were recently identified as causing Parkinson’s disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/frontotemporal dementia/myopathy, respectively. The mechanism by which they disrupt cristae, however, has been uncertain. Using first C2/C10 double knockout (DKO) mice, we report that C10 pathogenesis normal function of are intimately linked. Similar to patients with mutations, found...

Abstract Background Lipid accumulation product (LAP) and cardiometabolic index (CMI) are two novel obesity-related indexes associated with enhancing metabolic disease (MD) risk. Current evidences suggest that the differences in sex hormones regional fat distribution both sexes directly correlated MD nonalcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD) Hence, NAFLD incidences reflect differences. Herein, we examined accuracy of LAP CMI diagnosing sexes. Methods Overall, 14,407 subjects, who underwent health...

Mutations in paralogous mitochondrial proteins CHCHD2 and CHCHD10 cause autosomal dominant Parkinson Disease (PD) Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis/Frontotemporal Dementia (ALS/FTD), respectively. Using newly generated CHCHD2, CHCHD2/10 double knockout cell lines, we find that the are partially functionally redundant, similarly distributed throughout cristae, form heterodimers. Unexpectedly, also CHCHD2/CHCHD10 heterodimerization increases response to stress. This increase is driven by...

Selective cargo capture into ER-derived vesicles is driven by the Sec24p subunit of COPII coat, which contains at least three independent cargo-binding sites. One these, "A-site," interacts with a NPF motif found on SNARE, Sed5p. We have characterized Sec24p-Sed5p interaction through mutation putative ER export motifs Sed5p and A-site Sec24p. Mutational analysis suggests that dominant signal. Mutation binding pocket led to dramatic reduction in vesicles, whereas packaging other ER-Golgi...
