Abstract Orthopedic prostheses are the ultimate therapeutic solution for various end‐stage orthopedic conditions. However, aseptic loosening and pyogenic infections remain as primary complications associated with these devices. In this study, a hierarchical titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nanotube drug delivery system loaded cinnamaldehyde surface modification of implants, is constructed. These specially designed dual‐layer TiO nanotubes enhance material reactivity provide an extensive...

Total temporomandibular joint (TMJ) prosthesis is an effective and reliable method of reconstruction. However, there still urgent need to design a new TMJ because no commercially available appropriate for the clinical application on Chinese population. This study was introduced prospectively confirm safety effectiveness with customized 3D printing additive fabrication in application.Patients unilateral end-stage osteoarthrosis were recruited this from Nov 2016 Mar 2017. Computed tomography...

Abstract Background Previous research has revealed that the 18 glycoside hydrolase gene family (GH18) member Chitinase 3-like 1 (Chi3l1) can regulate osteoclast differentiation and bone resorption. However, its downstream receptors molecular mechanisms during osteoclastogenesis have yet to be elucidated. Methods Initially, we conducted a comprehensive investigation evaluate effects of recombinant Chi3l1 protein or siRNA on RANKL-induced MAPK/AKT signaling pathways. Moreover, used...

Abstract Nanoparticles exhibit significant potential in modulating oil‐water interfacial tension, altering rock wettability, and optimizing fluid flow for enhanced oil recovery. This study employs MD simulations to investigate the effects of surface‐modified nanoparticles (pure‐NP, alkyl‐NP, carboxylate‐NP) on layer thickness, displacement energy. Results reveal that alkyl‐NP reduces tension most effectively (32.57 mN·m⁻¹), followed by carboxylate‐NP (38.64 mN·m⁻¹) pure‐NP (45.02 mN·m⁻¹)....

Objective: To explore the relationship between sleep quality and risk of all-cause mortality based on a large-scale prospective cohort elderly people aged 60 above in Shanghai community. Methods: In 2019, 17 948 community were recruited to participate Community Elderly Cohort. Baseline information members was collected through face-to-face questionnaires, during most recent month using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scale. The association analyzed multifactorial Cox regression models....

Kaempferide (KF) is an O-methylated flavonol, a natural plant extract, which often found in Kaempferia galanga. It has variety of effects including anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether KF effectively inhibits titanium particle induced calvarial bone loss via down regulation the JNK signaling pathway. mice with osteolysis, Low dose mildly reduced resorption pits while high group, fewer...

Abstract A series of osteolytic bone diseases are usually related to excessive resorption and osteoclast formation. Thus, agents or drugs which can target development attenuate loss potentially considerable in preventing treating lytic diseases. In recent years, many studies have reported that Notch signaling has substantial impacts on the process differentiation, maturation, destruction. present study, we showed LY411575, a γ‐secretase inhibitor, could potently suppress osteoclast‐specific...

Abstract Considering the high rate of osteoclast‐related diseases worldwide, research targeting osteoclast formation/function is crucial. In vitro, we demonstrated that chitooligosaccharide (CS) dramatically inhibited osteoclastogenesis as well function dose‐dependently. CS suppressed osteoclast‐specific genes expression during osteoclastogenesis. Furthermore, found attenuated receptor activator nuclear factor kappa B ligand (RANKL)‐mediated mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway...
