Parathyroid hormone (PTH) measurement is important for patients with disorders of calcium metabolism, including those needing bone-turnover monitoring due to chronic kidney disease-mineral bone disorder. There are currently 2 generations PTH immunoassays on the market, both having cross-reactivity issues and lacking standardization. Therefore, we developed an LC-MS/MS higher-order method analysis.

Abstract Commutability is where the measurement response for a reference material (RM) same as an individual patient sample with concentration of analyte measured using two or more systems. Assessment commutability essential when RM used in calibration hierarchy to ensure that clinical measurements are comparable across different procedures and at times. The three new Standard Reference Materials ® (SRMs) determining serum total 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D], defined sum 2 [25(OH)D ] 3 ],...

In this study, we provide a short analytical evaluation of the new Fujirebio Lumipulse®G non-competitive immunoassay for 25(OH)D. Clinical performance was compared with three commercial competitive automated immunoassays against Vitamin D Standardization Program (VDSP)-traceable liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in six different clinically relevant populations.Lumipulse®G 25(OH)D precision, measurement uncertainty, recovery, limit quantification were assessed, as well...

Precise determination of circulating parathyroid hormone (PTH) concentration is crucial to diagnose and manage various disease conditions, including the chronic kidney disease–mineral bone disorder. However, lack standardization in PTH assays challenging for clinicians, potentially leading medical errors because different do not provide equivalent results use reference ranges. Here, we aimed evaluate impact recalibrating immunoassays by means a recently developed LC-MS/MS method as...

Standardization of parathyroid hormone (PTH) assays is a major issue, especially in hemodialyzed (HD) patients. Two automated third generation PTH (Roche Elecsys and DiaSorin Liaison) are now available. These specific for the (1-84) do not cross-react with (7-84) fragment, contrary to second (intact) assays. We aimed calibrate two methods against WHO International Standard (IS) 95/646 see if could provide comparable results population healthy subjects, HD patients suffering from primary...

Abstract Background: We provide a clinical and analytical evaluation of the reformulated version Abbott Architect 25-hydroxyvitamin D assay. compared this assay with three commercial automated immunoassays against VDSP-traceable liquid chromatography coupled tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in six different populations. also supplemented 40 healthy volunteers either 600,000 IU vitamin D2 or 100,000 D3 to evaluate performance vs. LC-MS/MS. Methods: Precision limit quantification were...

Currently the 25-hydroxy vitamin D (25(OH)D) concentration is thought to be best estimate of status an individual. Unfortunately, its measurement remains complex, despite recent technological advances. We evaluated biological variation (BV) 25(OH)D in order set analytical performance specifications (APS) for uncertainty (MU). Six European laboratories recruited 91 healthy participants. The concentrations K3-EDTA plasma were examined weekly up 10 weeks duplicate on a Lumipulse G1200...

Twenty-eight patients with necrosis in the hip joint, femoral condyles and talus were examined by MR tomography. This revealed various features whose frequency depended upon stages of necrosis. Three who showed no, or only indefinite, changes on radiographs, displayed clear evidence MR. Staging head basis criteria is suggested, as well a suitable procedure for early diagnosis. Accurate localisation knowledge extent means makes it possible to plan an osteotomy accurately.
