The restoration of extensive zygomatic complex defects is a surgical challenge owing to the difficulty accurately restoring normal anatomy, symmetry, proper facial projection and width. In present study, an post-traumatic bone defect was reconstructed using custom-made implant that made with selective laser melting (SLM) technique. computer-designed had geometry fit perfectly into without requiring any intraoperative adjustments. A one-year follow-up revealed stable outcome no complications.

Raman spectroscopy recently proved a tremendous capacity to identify disease-specific markers in various (bio)samples being non-invasive, rapid, and reliable method for cancer detection. In this study, we first aimed record vibrational spectra of salivary exosomes isolated from oral oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma patients healthy controls using surface enhancement (SERS). Then, assessed method’s discriminate between malignant non-malignant samples by means principal component–linear...

Differentiating between benign and malignant parotid gland tumors (PGT) is essential for establishing the treatment strategy, which greatly influenced by tumor's histology. The objective of this study was to evaluate role MRI-based radiomics in differentiation Warthin's (WT) (MT), two entities that proved present overlapping imaging features on conventional functional MRI sequences. In retrospective study, a total 106 PGT (66 WT, 40 MT) with confirmed histology were eligible radiomic...

Childhood trauma defects in the head and neck area are challenging many aspects for patients surgeons. One major issue is still incomplete growth. Bone defect fixation measures have to consider biomechanical forces due bone growth from both sides, possibly influencing working against itself vice versa. A solution will be development of a stable but, at same time, quickly degradable osteosynthesis system (OSS) specifically pediatric sector. Besides physical demands, biocompatibility low risk...
