본 연구는 대구지역의 택시협동조합이 협동조합 시행 초기에 안정적으로 자리매김하고 COVID-19로 어려운 상황에서 일반택시법인에 비해 운영되는 원인을 알아보고자 하였다. 일반법인택시 경력 최소 3년 이상, 택시협동조합원 이력이 이상의 조합 운영활동을 하고 있는 이사 9명을 연구대상으로 이들의 심층면접을 통해 수집된 자료를 질적사례분석 연구방법으로 내용 분석하여 56개의 개념, 15개 주제로 범주화하고, 7개 차원으로 분류하였다. 첫째 열린 조합, 둘째 민주적 운영, 셋째 경제공동체, 넷째 자조적 책임, 다섯째 교육과 정보개방, 여섯째 협업과 연대, 일곱째 지역공동체이다. 대구지역이라는 한계가 있지만 협동조합의 특성이 택시협동조합의 운영안정화에 중요한 원인이 될 수 있음을 확인하고 더 나은 택시협동조합 운영을 위해 협동조합교육모델과 중간지원기관의 지원 등이 필요성을 제언한다.
