Abstract Study Objectives In a randomized controlled noninferiority trial, we compared face-to-face and telemedicine delivery (via the AASM SleepTM platform) of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for insomnia improving insomnia/sleep daytime functioning at posttreatment 3-month follow-up. A secondary objective modalities on treatment credibility, satisfaction, therapeutic alliance. Methods total 65 adults with chronic (46 women, 47.2 ± 16.3 years age) were to 6 sessions CBT delivered...

Fibromyalgia (FM) is the prototypical nociplastic pain condition, characterized by widespread and issues with cognition, mood, sleep. Currently, there are limited treatment options available that effectively treat FM symptoms. Psilocybin-assisted therapy (PAT) an emerging combined drug-therapy intervention, but no studies to-date have investigated PAT for FM. Here, we report findings from open-label, pilot clinical trial of (N = 5). In conjunction psychotherapy (two preparatory, four...

BACKGROUND: CBFV (cerebral blood flow velocity) is lower in the morning than afternoon and evening. Two hypotheses have been proposed to explain time of day changes CBFV: 1) are due sleep-associated processes or 2) an endogenous circadian rhythm independent sleep. The aim this study was examine over 30 hours sustained wakefulness determine whether exhibits fluctuations associated with day. METHODS: Eleven subjects underwent a modified constant routine protocol. from middle cerebral artery...

Background: Subjective and objective measures of poor sleep in alcoholic insomniacs predict relapse to drinking. Nonalcoholic underestimate their total time (TST) overestimate onset latency (SOL) wake after (WASO) compared with polysomnography (PSG). This study evaluated 3 hypotheses: (1) subjective SOL would frequency future drinking; (2) participants WASO TST; (3) higher amounts over‐ underestimates at baseline worse drinking outcomes prospectively. Sleep disturbances in alcohol-dependent (AD) individuals may persist despite abstinence from alcohol and can influence the course of disorder. Although mechanisms sleep AD are not well understood some evidence suggests dysregulation circadian rhythms, dim light melatonin onset (DLMO) has previously been assessed versus healthy control (HC) a sample that varied by sex race. Rapid eye movement (REM) density, a measure of the frequency rapid movements during REM sleep, is known to increase over course sleep episode. However, circadian modulation density has not been thoroughly evaluated.
