Conductivity switching phenomena controlled by external voltages have been investigated for various NiO films deposited dc reactive sputtering methods. Pt∕NiO∕Pt capacitor structures with top electrodes of different diameters showed increasing off-state current the diameter a electrode and nearly same on-state independent diameter. Local conductivity behaviors observed in series structure consisting two capacitors resistance values. By reasoning out mechanisms from characteristics...
A 20 MW/5 GHz lower hybrid current drive (LHCD) system was initially due to be commissioned and used for the second mission of ITER, i.e. Q = 5 steady state target. Though not part currently planned procurement phase, it is now under consideration an earlier delivery. In this paper, both physics technology conceptual designs are reviewed. Furthermore, appropriate work plan also developed. This design, R&D, installation a MW LHCD on ITER follows Scientific Technical Advisory Committee...
We investigated resistance switching in top-electrode/NiO∕Pt structures where the top electrode was Au, Pt, Ti, or Al. For Pt∕NiO∕Pt and Au∕NiO∕Pt with ohmic contacts, effective electric field inside film high enough to induce trapping detrapping at defect states thus switching. a Ti∕NiO∕Pt structure well-defined Schottky contact Ti∕NiO interface accompanied by an appreciable voltage drop, NiO not Al∕NiO∕Pt low barrier Al∕NiO interface, could be induced higher since drop negligible but small.
ITER plasma control design solutions and performance requirements are strongly driven by its nuclear mission, aggressive commissioning constraints, limited number of operational discharges. In addition, high energy content, heat fluxes, neutron very long pulse operation place novel demands on in many areas ranging from boundary divertor regulation to kinetics stability control. Both experimental operations schedules provide time for tuning algorithms relative operating devices. Although...
After 14 years of successful operation, the Pohang Light Source (PLS) has completed PLS-II upgrade to meet increasing demand from growing user community. The increased beam energy 2.5 GeV 3 GeV; number insertion devices been by a factor two (20 IDs); and current 400 mA 200 mA. emittance reduced below 10 nm while retaining existing PLS tunnel as well injection system. During six months commissioning in latter half 2011, we have successfully achieved device operations top-up with 100 5.8...
Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are an important component of leukocyte infiltration in tumors. TAMs can be classified into M1 and M2 phenotypes. In the present study, expression CD204, M2-polarized macrophage receptor, was investigated by immunohistochemistry area surrounding 101 cases canine mammary gland tumor (CMT). We examined relationship between malignancy, histological subtype, grade, molecular hormone receptor (HR) status, clinical obesity indices. The mean number CD204-positive...
Time-dependent simulations are used to evolve plasma discharges in combination with a modified Rutherford equation for calculation of neoclassical tearing mode (NTM) stability response electron cyclotron (EC) feedback control ITER. The main application this integrated approach is support the development algorithms by analyzing physics-based models and assess how uncertainties detection magnetic island EC alignment affect ability ITER system fulfill its purpose. Simulations indicate that it...
Spontaneously occurring canine mammary gland tumors share many features with human breast cancer, including biological behavior and histologic features. Compared to transgenic murine model, models have advantages naturally of diseases cancer. In humans, cancer is divided into molecular subtypes based on ER, PR, HER2 expression. contrast few studies evaluated these in tumors, expression HER2. tissues has been further complicated by controversy regarding the antibody's specificity. This study...
To evaluate the inhibitory effect of ursolic acid (UA)-containing composites on Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) biofilm.Composite resins with five different concentrations (0.04, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, and 1.0 wt%) UA (U6753, Sigma Aldrich) were prepared, their flexural strengths measured according to ISO 4049. carbohydrate source biofilm formation, either glucose or sucrose was used as a nutrient source, investigate saliva treatment, specimen treated unstimulated whole phosphate-buffered saline...
We aimed to investigate whether thrombus aspiration could preserve the index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).Sixty-three STEMI were randomised into two groups: PCI (aspiration group, n=33) and without (non-aspiration n=30). IMR was measured using a pressure-temperature sensor-tipped wire. Echocardiography performed at baseline six-month follow-up. No significant differences...
