Abstract Accumulating evidence has indicated the significant roles of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in pathophysiology diabetic nephropathy (DN). LncRNA nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1 (NEAT1) been reported to exert a key role progression several diseases including diabetes. However, NEAT1 regulation DP remains barely known. Therefore, our study aimed investigate streptozotocin‐induced diabetes model (DM) rats and glucose‐induced mouse mesangial cell models. Currently, we found that...
The overall success rate of circumferential pulmonary vein isolation (CPVI) treatment in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) remains suboptimal, especially older patients.
The triglyceride–glucose index (TyG) has been identified as a dependable and simple indicator marker of insulin resistance (IR). Research demonstrated correlation between macrovascular complications TyG. However, limited research exists regarding the relationship TyG diabetic microvascular complications. Consequently, objective this study is to investigate association kidney disease (DKD) peripheral neuropathy (DPN). This cross-sectional, observational study. A total 2048 patients from...
BACKGROUND Pediatric perforated appendicitis (PPA) is a severe acute condition requiring surgical intervention and postoperative antibiotic therapy. Antibiotic selection differs significantly among pediatric centers, an ideal anti-infective approach for PPA management has yet to be established. AIM To examine the spectrum of pathogenic bacteria in summarize experience with carbapenem (CBP) cephalosporin (CPS) antibiotics. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed medical records 65 children (43...
Objective. To investigate the association between serum lipoprotein ratios and insulin resistance in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). >Methods. 105 PCOS patients 109 controls were randomly enrolled study. Serum levels of luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating (FSH), estradiol (E2), total testosterone (T), fasting glucose (FBG), (FINS), triglycerides (TG), cholesterol (TC), high-density (HDL-C), low-density (LDL-C) checked, then TG/HDL-C ratio, TC/HDL-C,...
Aims As metabolic remodeling is a pathological characteristic in type 2 diabetes (T2D), we investigate the roles of newly developed long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) such as dulaglutide and liraglutide on patients with recent-onset T2D. Methods We recruited 52 cases T2D 28 control this study. In patient T2D, 39 received treatment 13 liraglutide. Using untargeted metabolomics analysis broad-spectrum LC-MS, tracked serum changes from beginning to end follow-up...
Abstract Background The impact of metabolically healthy obesity (MHO) on kidney dysfunction remains debatable. Moreover, few studies have focused the early stages indicated by hyperfiltration and mildly reduced eGFR. Thus, we aimed to investigate association between MHO dysfunction, which is represented estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), further explore whether serum uric acid affects this association. Methods This cross-sectional study enrolled 1188 residents aged ≥ 40 years old...
Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is highly prevalent among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in China, but few clinical symptoms of OSA are referred for diagnostic polysomnography (PSG).Thus, this study aimed to develop and validate an easy-to-use nomogram that predicts the severity T2DM.Methods: This retrospective included consecutive T2DM admitted Endocrinology Department, Third Affiliated Hospital Soochow University between January 1, 2016 December 31, 2019.OSA was...
To assess the prevalence and management of atrial thrombus in patients with nonvalvular fibrillation (NVAF) identify risk factors nonresolution thrombus. This single-center retrospective observational study consecutively enrolled NVAF detected using transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) or cardiac computed tomography angiography (CTA) from January 2012 to December 2020. Patients prior left appendage (LAA) intervention were excluded. The primary endpoint was presence thrombus, while...
Abstract Background Persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is the most prevalent form of thoracic venous abnormality and can serve as a significant arrhythmogenic source in atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods results Among 3950 patients who underwent radiofrequency ablation for AF between September 2014 to April 2020, 17 (mean age 59.4 ± 8.0 years, 64.7% male) with PLSVC were identified. them, nine (52.9%) had prior history pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) alone. Eight out experienced...
Abstract Aims/hypothesis Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RA) such as exenatide are used monotherapy and add-on therapy for maintaining glycaemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The current study investigated the safety efficacy of once-weekly PB-119, a PEGylated injection, treatment-naive diabetes. Methods In this Phase II, randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind study, we randomly assigned Chinese 1:1:1:1 ratio to receive subcutaneous placebo or one...
Background: Impaired Glucose Regulation (IGR) is a term that refers to blood glucose levels are higher than the normal range, but lower Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Objective: We aimed test role of plasma adiponectin (APN) and C-reactive protein (CRP) in predictingnthe risk cardiovascular disease patients with different degrees impaired regulation (IGR). Methods: A total 210 outpatients for physical examination were divided into 4 groups: 42 cases tolerance (NGT), 36 fasting (IFG), 92...
Objective: To investigate the characteristics of salivary microbiota in patients with laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR). Methods: A case-control study was applied to enroll 60 and healthy subjects who were outpatients Department Otorhinolaryngology Head Neck Surgery Eighth Medical Center PLA General Hospital from December 2020 March 2021, including 35 males 25 females, aged 21 80 (33.75±11.10) years. Thirty suspected selected as group thirty volunteers without pharyngeal symptoms control group....
Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) is the cornerstone of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation. General anesthesia (GA) resolves problem pain intolerability and provides regular respiratory mode which might improve catheter maneuverability AF This study aims to compare procedural performance PVI under GA versus conscious sedation (CS) from multiple perspectives.
We optimize the novel configuration of a hybrid fiber amplifier---Raman assisted-fiber-based optical parametric amplifier (R-FOPA), in which gain and Raman profiles are combined to achieve flat composite profile. The pump powers length effectively optimized by genetic algorithm (GA) scheme. optimization results indicate that R-FOPA can 200-nm bandwidth spectrum with 20 dB ripple less than 4 dB.
BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is related to the serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) level, which used as a marker of colorectal cancer. Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAS) has been recently reported have cancer-promoting effects. The aim our study was observe effect OSAS on levels CEA in patients with T2DM. MATERIAL AND METHODS We enrolled 401 T2DM this study. There were 244 and 157 without OSAS. RESULTS level higher than that those (p<0.05). participants AHI...
