Abstract The annual survey of the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy Renal Data Registry (JRDR) was sent to 4458 dialysis facilities at end 2018; among these facilities, 4402 (98.7%) responded facility questionnaire, and 4222 (94.7%) patient questionnaire. number chronic patients in Japan continues increase every year; as 2018, it had reached 339,841 patients, representing 2688 per million population. Among prevalent mean age 68.75 years, diabetic nephropathy most common primary disease...
Abstract Background The 2020 Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy Renal Data Registry (JRDR) annual survey was sent to 4493 dialysis facilities in Japan. Methods Questionnaires were all that provide patients with therapy collected and compiled form cross-sectional results of renal replacement from various aspects. Results In total, 4437 (98.8%) responded the facility questionnaire 4271 (95.1%) patient questionnaire. number chronic Japan continues increase every year, reaching 347,671 at end...
Abstract The prevalence of anti‐hepatitis C virus (HCV)antibodies is higher in hemodialysis patients than the general population, and several studies have reported poor vital prognosis HCV‐infected dialysis because infection with HCV not only cause cirrhosis hepatocellular carcinoma, but also a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Although sustained virologic response (SVR) achievable interferon ribavirin patients, SVR rates are lower, use challenging hemolytic anemia. Recently,...
Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication of chronic kidney disease (CKD), and as the progresses SHPT associated with systemic consequences, termed CKD-mineral bone disorder. Currently, cinacalcet indicated for treatment SHPT; however, upper gastrointestinal adverse events. Evocalcet has been developed to address these issues, but long-term safety efficacy evocalcet need be evaluated. To more accurately reflect clinical practice, this phase 3, multicenter, open-label...
Abstract. Hyperhomocysteinemia, which results from renal impairment, may promote arteriosclerosis and glomerulosclerosis. The combined effect of failure a common mutation (C677T) in the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase gene that leads to serum homocysteine elevations dialysis patients was investigated. Genotypes were determined at this locus 545 676 healthy subjects, concentrations total folate measured subgroup 464 patients. Multiple regression analysis showed TT genotype low...
Abstract: We investigated the clinical efficacy of direct hemoperfusion with a β 2 ‐microglobulin (β ‐m) adsorption column for treatment patients dialysis‐related amyloidosis. A 2‐year prospective controlled study was performed to compare effects passaging blood through (Lixelle) before it is passaged dialysis polysulfone membrane on severity amyloidosis in these individuals. Patients ( n = 22) whose went Lixelle prior had higher ‐m removal rate compared an equal number controls, and they...
Abstract Background Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors have been shown to exert cardiorenal protective effects in diabetic patients and are widely used clinically. In addition, an increasing number of reports now suggest these drugs may even be beneficial non-diabetic patients. However, SGLT2 rarely prescribed for kidney transplant recipients due the risk renal graft damage urogenital infections. Case presentation We report cases 5 with chronic disease G3a-4 metabolic syndrome...
Crystalline light chain inclusion-associated kidney disease affects mainly tubular epithelial cells and is often clinically manifested as Fanconi syndrome. However, only very few case reports about the crystalline deposits within podocytes are available, nature of pathogenic monoclonal implicated in these cases still unknown. We report a podocytopathy which we identified complete structure belonging to germ-line gene Vκ1-39.We describe 65-year-old woman with showing mild proteinuria renal...
Abstract Background Hemodialysis patients are more likely to be severely affected if infected by COVID-19. Contributing factors include chronic kidney disease, old age, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, heart and cerebrovascular disease. Therefore, action against COVID-19 for hemodialysis is an urgent issue. Vaccines effective in preventing COVID 19 infection. In patients, however, responses hepatitis B influenza vaccines reportedly weak. The BNT162b2 vaccine has shown efficacy rate of about...
Abstract Background Renal transplant recipients with chronic kidney disease often develop post-transplant diabetes mellitus or metabolic syndrome (MetS), which are poor prognostic factors after renal grafts. Although recent studies have reported the protective effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA) on heart and kidneys, few assessed its in patients. Moreover, to our knowledge there been no oral GLP-1RA (semaglutide) transplantation Japan. Case presentation 1 was a...
In this paper, we provide a theoretical analysis of the minimum mean-square error short-time spectral amplitude (MMSE-STSA) estimator with biased priori SNR estimation and its extension to musical-noise-free speech enhancement. Recently, enhancement has been proposed, where no musical noise is generated in iterative subtraction. However, existence condition MMSE-STSA reported. Therefore, show that exists via analysis. addition, perform comparative experiments clarify efficacy proposed
Abstract. Among patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis, a decreased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) concentration is among the most common abnormalities of lipid metabolism and apparently an independent risk factor for vascular disease. A missense mutation cholesteryl ester transfer protein gene, D442G (Asp 442 to Gly), increases HDL-C levels through reduced activity from HDL VLDL, but also may lead reverse transport. To investigate effect polymorphism on atherosclerotic...
Abstract According to the annual survey of Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy Renal Data Registry (JRDR) conducted at end 2018, there were a total 339,841 patients receiving dialysis (hereinafter, patients) in Japan. The included questions regarding presence/absence dementia, performance status (PS), and exercise habits individual patients. revealed that 10.8% all had dementia (1.8% age group less than 65 years, 6.8% 65–74 22.7% 75 years or older). These prevalences approximately equal...
Abstract Background Renal transplant recipients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) often develop abnormal glucose metabolism. Although recent studies have reported the protective effects of sodium-glucose transport protein 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors on heart and kidneys, few assessed their effect in renal patients. Moreover, to our knowledge, there been no SGLT2 Japan. Case presentation 1 was a 67-year-old male recipient post-transplant diabetes mellitus. He administered empagliflozin 10 mg once...
Lipid metabolism and adiponectin modulate erythropoiesis in vitro general population studies may also affect responsiveness to erythropoietin patients undergoing haemodialysis (HD). However, little is known about the impact of lipid-associated biomarkers on reticulocyte production resistance index (ERI) HD. Therefore, we aimed investigate their impacts 167 stable
Abstract Background With the widespread use of vaccine and predominance Omicron strain, number patients presenting with typical coronavirus-infection disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia on computed tomography (CT) has decreased dramatically. This also been true for hemodialysis patients. Case report A 72-year-old female maintenance patient hypogammaglobulinemia was diagnosed COVID-19 based a nasopharyngeal swab severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov-2) polymerase chain...
