The ordering of quantum dots in three-dimensional dot lattices is investigated by grazing-incidence small-angle X-ray scattering (GISAXS). Theoretical models describing GISAXS intensity distributions for three general classes are proposed. differ the type disorder positions dots. enable full structure determination, including lattice type, parameters, and degree sizes. Applications developed demonstrated using experimentally measured data from several types formed a self-assembly process.

Laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSSs) and chemical composition changes of Ti-based nanolayered thin films (Al/Ti, Ni/Ti) after femtosecond (fs) laser pulses action were studied. Irradiation is performed using linearly polarized Ti:Sapphire fs 40 pulse duration 800 nm wavelength. The low spatial frequency LIPSS (LSFL), oriented perpendicular to the polarization with periods slightly lower than irradiation wavelength, was typically formed at elevated fluences. On contrary, high...

Abstract Ge/Si core/shell quantum dots (QDs) recently received extensive attention due to their specific properties induced by the confinement effects of core and shell structure. They have a type II resulting in spatially separated charge carriers, electronic structure strongly dependent on size. Herein, experimental realization QDs with tunable optical is demonstrated. embedded an amorphous alumina glass matrix are produced simple magnetron sputtering deposition. In addition, they...
