An Fe-catalyzed 2-deoxy glycosylation method was developed from 3,4-O-carbonate glycals directly at room temperature. A red phosphor K<sub>2</sub>SiF<sub>6</sub>:Mn<sup>4+</sup>nanorod is successfully prepared through an efficient one-step method at room temperature for 30 min.
