To compare measurements of axial length (AL), corneal curvature (K), anterior chamber depth (ACD) and white-to-white (WTW) distance on a new device combining Scheimpflug camera partial coherence interferometry (Pentacam AXL) with reference optical biometer (IOL Master 500). evaluate differences between IOL power calculations based the two biometers. Ninety-seven eyes 97 consecutive cataract or refractive lens exchange patients were examined preoperatively 500 Pentacam AXL units. Comparisons...

Purpose. To evaluate visual results of phacoemulsification in eyes with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) treated anti–vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) intravitreal injections. Methods. This retrospective noncomparative interventional case-series study assessed best-corrected acuity (BCVA) at 4 timepoints: 1) baseline, immediately before first anti-VEGF injection; 2) preoperative, phacoemulsification; 3) postoperative, 1 month after 4) endpoint, the last visit....

This study evaluates the effectiveness of objective techniques in assessing dry eye disease (DED) treatment compared with subjective assessment commonly used clinical practice. Thirty subjects were recruited for two visits separated by 28(± 3) days artificial tears. A buttery common methods accompanied a set including measurement noninvasive tear film break-up time (NIBUT), lipid layer thickness (LLT), and quantitative evaluation surface quality dynamics (TFD). Additionally, meibography was...

PURPOSE: To develop and validate a new algorithm for predicting the postoperative vault of myopic EVO Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) V4c (STAAR Surgical AG). METHODS: This study included 81 eyes 43 patients who had undergone ICL implantation. Preoperative data obtained by swept-source optical coherence tomography, Scheimpflug camera, anterior segment tomography were applied to partial least squares (PLS) regression algorithm. sizing was performed using standard white-to-white method...

Cataract surgery can cause dry eye symptoms. One of the many factors compromising ocular surface is use benzalkonium chloride (BAC)-preserved topical drops administered during postoperative period. In this open-label, prospective, randomized, comparative clinical trial, 40 patients not previously affected by disease were assigned to receive either preservative-free (PFD) or preserved (PD) dexamethasone 0.1% for two weeks after a standard phacoemulsification procedure. Fluorescein break-up...

Scheimpflug camera devices enable 3-dimensional analysis of the cornea and anterior segment. Evaluation posterior corneal curvature, total astigmatism higher order aberrations, including spherical aberration, are important for patient selection toric multifocal intraocular lenses. The magnitude axis influence refractive power. Assessment power is particularly in eyes with abnormalities such as keratoconus or after laser surgery.
