Significance The work described represents a strategy in the design and development of theranostic pure nanodrugs for combating drug-resistant bacteria. significance this includes: ( i ) modular synthetic preparation ciprofloxacin derivatives high yields one step at room temperature without any catalysts; ii stable nanoaggregates, prepared following principle aggregation-induced emission, successfully used as fluorescent organic dots to image bacteria; iii formulation that showed...

Auranofin, an FDA-approved arthritis drug, has recently been repurposed as a potential antimicrobial agent; it performed well against many Gram-positive bacteria, including multidrug resistant strains. It is, however, inactive toward Gram-negative for which we are in dire need of new therapies. In this work, 40 auranofin analogues were synthesized by varying the structures thiol and phosphine ligands, their activities tested ESKAPE pathogens. The study identified compounds that exhibited...

Microsecond pulsed electric field (µsPEF) is a newer treatment modality to replace catheter ablation of Atrial fibrillation (AF) due its fewer side effects. This study aims find out experimental parameters that effectively induce cardiomyocyte death and the precise mechanisms for microsecond fields (µsPEFs) cardiomyocytes. CCK8 flow apoptosis analysis were employed examine effects different µsPEFs on cardiomyocytes in vitro. The by which works explored through combination transcriptome...

H-bonding activation in the regioselective acetylation of vicinal and 1,3-diols is presented. Herein, hydroxyl group with acetic anhydride can be activated by formation H-bonds between anions. The reaction exhibits high regioselectivity when a catalytic amount tetrabutylammonium acetate employed. Mechanistic studies indicated that anion forms dual complexes diol, which facilitates subsequent monoacetylation.

We report the synthesis of polyphosphazenes by a fast Staudinger reaction between bis-PFAA (perfluoroaryl azide) and bis-phospine. Polymerization was completed within 30 min after mixing two monomers (20 mM) in CH3CN under ambient conditions to give polyphosphazene with molecular weight up over 59 000 narrow dispersity (Đ) 1.1–1.2. This is significant improvement obtained from classic which had lower (M̅n = 10 000–25 000) higher Đ (1.7). applies bis-PFAAs bis-phosphines either an aromatic or...

Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) is one of the highly susceptible genes to breast cancer (BC); however, role PTEN-related RNAs in BC remains poorly understood. Understanding effect their mechanisms may be helpful clinicians. We screened differentially expressed (deRNAs) related PTEN established competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network by integrating several databases. After that, model, prolactin receptor (PRLR)/calcium voltage-gated channel auxiliary subunit alpha2delta 1 (CACNA2D1),...

Thyroid cancer (TC) is a prevalent and increasingly common malignant tumor. In most cases, TC progresses slowly runs virtually benign course. However, challenges remain with the treatment of refractory TC, which does not respond to traditional management or subject relapse metastasis. Therefore, new therapeutic regimens for patients poor outcomes are urgently needed.

Glycopolymers have gained increasing importance in investigating glycan-lectin interactions, as drug delivery vehicles and modulating interactions with proteins. The synthesis of these glycopolymers is still a challenging rigorous exercise. In this regard, the highly efficient click reaction, copper (I)-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition, has been widely applied not only for its efficiency but also tolerance appended carbohydrate groups. However, significant drawback method use heavy metal...

Bacteria of the genus Burkholderia include pathogenic mallei, pseudomallei and cepacia complex (Bcc). These Gram-negative pathogens have intrinsic drug resistance, which makes treatment infections difficult. Bcc affects individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF) species B. cenocepacia is associated one worst clinical outcomes. Following repurposing auranofin as an antibacterial against Gram-positive bacteria, we previously synthetized analogs activity Gram-negatives. In this work, show that two...
