In November 2021, 14 international travel-related severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) B.1.1.529 (omicron) variant of concern (VOC) patients were detected in South Korea. Epidemiologic investigation revealed community transmission the omicron VOC. A total 80 SARS-CoV-2 VOC-positive identified until December 10, 2021 and 66 them reported no relation to travel. There may be more transmissions with this VOC Korea than reported.

In South Korea, a November 2021 outbreak caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 Omicron variant originated from 1 person with an imported case and spread to households, kindergartens, workplaces, restaurants, hospitals, resulting in 11 clusters within 3 weeks. An epidemiologic curve indicated rapid community transmission of the variant.

Paxlovid is an oral antiviral drug that received emergency use authorization in South Korea for the treatment of patients with mild-to-moderate coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on January 14, 2022. Since onset severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 pandemic, virus has continued to evolve. The emergence new variants raised concerns about possible reductions effectiveness vaccines and drugs. infected omicron variant subvariants not yet been determined. This study assessed at reducing risk...

Despite the extraordinary speed of mass vaccination efforts, an outbreak severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) delta variant in a vaccinee with disease 2019 (COVID-19) mRNA vaccine was identified adult day service center (ADSC) Jeju, South Korea. The primary objective this study to investigate epidemiologic features infection-vulnerable facilities high rate BNT162b2 COVID-19 vaccine. second estimate secondary transmission prevention effect household members by status.

As few mpox cases have been reported in Korea, we aimed to identify the characteristics of infection by describing our epidemiologic investigation a woman patient (index patient, third case Korea) and physician who was infected needlestick injury (the fourth case). We conducted contact tracing exposure risk evaluation through interviews with these 2 patients their physicians contacts, as well field investigations at each facility visited during symptomatic periods. We then classified contacts...

The MOVe-OUT (efficacy and safety of molnupiravir [MK-4482] in non-hospitalized adult participants with COVID-19 [MK-4482-002]) trial reported that the administration unvaccinated patients coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) before Omicron epidemic showed a preventive effect 31% against hospitalization death. However, studies on progression to severe death during are limited. This study aimed evaluate severe/critical illness or Korean who were vaccinated mostly epidemic.

This paper proposes a new sensorless control scheme of non-salient pole permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs). To solve the drawback Extend Kalman Filter (EKF) needing long computation time, is achieved by using parallel structure EKF model, which alternatively operates at sampling period. The proposed can greatly save time with similar performance compared full-order EKF. Therefore, it overcome low ability cost digital processors or have extra for precise algorithm. Experimental...

In this paper, we propose a fully reliable file-transfer framework with application layer forward error correction (AL-FEC) in satellite communications on the move (SOTM) systems. particular, proposed uses two-way acknowledgement (ACK) exchange mechanism. The is implemented into performance-enhancing proxy to minimize system change. Furthermore, analyze time of by Markov chain. analysis results show that outperforms TCP terms and goodput. transfer large-sized file, overhead AL-FEC mechanism...

The paper proposes static and dynamic characteristics analysis algorithms for the axial flux type reluctance motor (AFSRM) considering nonlinear magnetic phenomena. To investigate nonlinearity parameters of equivalent circuit, designed 4-phase AFSRM is analyzed by 2D 3D finite element method as functions input current angular displacement. Field solutions from are processed to give energy conversion loop linkage curve current. output performance was calculated using FEM analysis, current,...

We propose a scheduled resource allocation mechanism using cross-layer information exchange between application layer and link layer. The positioning of satellite communication on the move (SOTM) node number sessions are exchanged two layers. To evaluate performance, we implement testbed for evaluation proposed mechanism. results show that performance improve TCP throughput fairness in existing disruption network.

In this short paper, we propose a hybrid TCP PEP combined XOR coding with Hybla on split in satellite communication. To evaluate performance of the proposed protocol set up test bed communication network. As result evaluation Hybrid PEP, file transmission speed improved more than 40% high error rate environment. Therefore, can expect that TCP, which is method and contribute to improve data environments.
