The CD4+ helper/inducer T cell population is comprised of functionally distinct subsets identifiable by the HB11 (anti-CD45R) mAb. We have previously shown that cells provide help for antibody production express CD4+CD45R- phenotype. In contrast, CD45R+ minimal, if any, helper functions; rather, these function as inducers Ts activity. lineal relationship phenotypically and unknown. present studies, we examined hypothesis subpopulations with anti-CD45R antibodies represent "virgin" or...

Abstract Objective . To elucidate the role played by HLA‐B51 in neutrophil hyperfunction of Behcet's disease, we determined superoxide production purified peripheral blood neutrophils from disease patients, positive healthy individuals, and transgenic mice. Methods Neutrophil function was evaluated flow cytometric analysis, detecting conversion 2′,7′‐dichlorofluorescin diacetate into dichlorofluorescein, induced neutrophils. Results A significant correlation between possession phenotype,...

SUMMARY Phenotypic and functional properties of γδ T cells, which play an important role in mucocutaneous immunity, were examined to elucidate whether immunological abnormality Behc¸et's disease may be related a specific cell population. We found that CD45RA+Vγ9+Vδ2+γδ constitute minor population cells healthy individuals, increased number irrespective activity. This CD45RA+ subset the active, but not inactive, phase this expressed IL-2Rβ HLA-DR, suggesting they are activated vivo active...

IL-31, which is described as a pruritogenic cytokine, linked to the itching that associated with allergic and non-allergic eczema, but precise mechanism of IL-31 its potential therapeutic target for atopic dermatitis (AD) have not been determined. We investigated effects existing drugs on scratching behaviour induced by an i.v. injection clarify whether pruritus indirectly. In addition, we studied anti-IL-31 receptor α subunit (anti-IL-31 α) neutralizing antibody chronic pruritus-inducing in...

SUMMARY BD is prevalent in the area of Silk Route. It has been shown that hsp are involved T cell activation patients with UK, where this disease developed sporadically. We have thus examined whether response to hsp-derived peptides may be induced Japan, an east pole As human 60-kD peptide 336–351 also yielded vigorous proliferation cells Japanese BD, but neither normal subjects nor rheumatoid arthritis (RA); there was significant association between by and presence ocular lesion, not any...

House dust mite-specific IgE, IgG and subclass antibody responses were evaluated during immunotherapy in perennial allergic rhinitis patients. It was found that IgG4 antibodies steadily increased treatment, while IgG1 reached a plateau 6 months after the initiation of immunotherapy. IgE also treatment. good clinical outcome associated with rate increase antibodies, but not IgG, or antibodies.

Aspiration pneumonia is a serious problem among elderly patients; it caused by many risk factors including dysphagia, poor oral hygiene, malnutrition, and sedative medications. The aim of this study was to define convenient procedure objectively evaluate the aspiration in clinical setting. This prospective included an (AP) group, community-acquired (CAP) control (Con) group (patients hospitalized for lung cancer chemotherapy). We used Oral Health Assessment Tool (OHAT), which assesses...

This work examines the functional properties and TCRbeta gene utilization of 15 autoreactive T cell clones derived from five patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. All these proliferated secreted cytokine when stimulated in vitro by autologous (but not allogenic) B cells. Individual used diverse genes did show skewing toward preferential usage anionically charged receptors. Autoreactive supported polyclonal activation, as characterized production anti-DNA, anti-Sjögren syndrome A,...

Cells comprising the CD8+ T cell population are heterogeneous with regard to their function, maturation, and/or expression of various membrane molecules such as CD45R Ag. We have previously shown that functionally distinct subsets CD4+ lymphocytes identified by anti-CD45R mAb represent cells at different stages an activation-dependent post-thymic differentiation pathway. In present studies, we analyzed functional capabilities and lineal relationship defined mAb. Both CD8+CD45R+ CD8+CD45R-...

Emphysema, one of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), is characterized as destruction airway wall and small inflammation. To assess the kinetics progression in murine model elastase-induced emphysema, we used micro-computed tomography (CT) compared with morphological changes. Two week after elastase administration, a significant increase volume low-density areas, recognized −800—−600 Hounsfield units by micro-CT, was observed. Coefficient correlation between mean linear intercept...

Abstract Mammalian secreted lymphocyte antigen‐6/urokinase‐type plasminogen activator receptor‐related peptide‐1 (SLURP‐1) is a positive allosteric ligand for α7 nicotinic acetylcholine (ACh) receptors (α7 nAChRs) that potentiates responses to ACh and elicits proapoptotic activity in human keratinocytes. Mutations the gene encoding SLURP‐1 have been detected patients with Mal de Meleda, rare autosomal recessive skin disorder characterized by transgressive palmoplantar keratoderma. On basis...

Abstract Background Type 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) are one of the sources IL‐5 and IL‐13 in allergic airway inflammation. Innate immune receptors such as Toll‐like (TLRs) expressed on epithelial could contribute to ILC2 activation through IL‐33 production, but a direct effect TLRs ILC2s remains be elucidated. Objectives We hypothesized that can directly activate lung participate pathogenesis asthma. Methods After intranasal administration wild‐type (WT), TLR2KO TLR4KO female mice, were...
