Between 1960 and 1987, 414 patients with invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the penis were referred to Brazilian National Cancer Institute. Inguinal metastases demonstrated by lymphadenectomy in 39% 23 stage N0, 49% 92 stages N1 N2, 100% 18 N3 disease. We analyzed followup 350 who underwent surgical treatment. In 224 (64%) amputation or some form penile surgery was done initially, while 102 (29%) lymphadenectomy, 24 (7%) palliative for advanced carcinoma. The statistics revealed a better...

Abstract Background and Objectives We reviewed our long‐term experience with surgical treatment of patients penile carcinoma. Methods From 1960 to 2006, 688 carcinoma underwent at Institute. Several forms were compared follow‐up data analyzed. Results Stage stratification demonstrated a better survival rate for stages T1N0 T1N1,T2N0‐1. Patients well differentiated had higher than those moderately poorly ( P < 0.0001 = 0.006). Risk showed in the low‐risk group (T1G1,T1G2) 0.013 0.00001)....

Prophylactic therapeutic radical done 67 (39.4%) 103 (60.6%), respectively. Operative time length hospital stay were examined. Complications divided into minor major, early (30 days or less after surgery) late (greater than 30 days), analyzed.A total...

From 1972 to 1987, 200 consecutive lymphadenectomies were performed in 112 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the penis. A Gibson incision provided exposure iliac and inguinal lymph nodes a low morbidity rate (5% flap necrosis, 15% wound infection, 16% lymphedema 9% lymphocele). The controversy surrounding necessity lymphadenectomy is discussed, since 305 examined did not have metastatic invasion.

Inguinal lymph node dissection plays an important role in the management of melanoma, penile and vulval cancer. is associated with various intraoperative postoperative complications significant heterogeneity classification reporting. This lack standardization challenges efforts to study report inguinal outcomes. The aim this was devise a system standardize reporting perioperative by creating worldwide collaborative, adverse events lymphadenectomy area (CALI) group.

Recently, we were able to show that satellite DNA amplification (satDNA-AMP) is present in advanced prostate cancer. A chromosome microarray study provided first evidence satDNA-AMP appears be largely independent of centromere-near/pericentric euchromatic copy number alterations. Therefore, it might carefully suggested could a new and marker for tumor progression:

This observation emerged from the application of probes (satellite-DNA) as controls in molecular cytogenetic investigations diagnostics, although these accounts were largely anecdotal. this study, we conducted a systematic screening for sequence amplification 31 prostate cancer (PCa) samples, prevalent malignancy men...

Penile cancer is a potentially mutilating disease. Although its occurrence relatively rare worldwide, penile rates can be high in developing countries. A few studies have been conducted on the involvement of human papillomavirus (HPV) carcinoma, which found HPV present 30-70% malignant lesions, with higher prevalence 16 and 18. It has assumed that cofactors, such as Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infections, may play role progression neoplasia. The aim this study was to determine EBV 135 lesions...
