Abstract Glomerulosclerosis and tubulointerstitial fibrosis are associated with lower renal parenchymal elasticity. This study was designed to evaluate the predictive ability of elasticity in patients chronic kidney disease (CKD). 148 non-CKD 227 CKD were recruited. 145 (38.7%) female, 166 (73.1%) had diabetes, mean estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) 33.9 ± 15.8 ml/min/1.73 m 2 median urinary protein-to-creatinine ratio (UPCR) 502 (122–1491) mg/g. Patients later stages values,...

Although some studies have reported that low ankle-brachial index (ABI) is associated with diabetic retinopathy (DR) in patients, it remains controversial as to which stage of DR. The aim this study assess whether peripheral artery disease (PAD), indicated by abnormally or high ABI, different stages DR patients type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), and further evaluate the risk factors. A total 2001 (858 men 1143 women) DM who underwent ABI measurement an outpatient clinic were enrolled. PAD was...

Interventions engaging community health workers (CHW) for diabetes management aim to improve care and self-management behaviors among patients. We evaluated the effects of nonsurgical periodontal treatment (NSPT) with CHW strategy on oral self-care behaviors, status health-related quality life (OHQoL) in patients type 2 mellitus (T2DM). The participants were randomly assigned experimental (EG; n = 35) control (CG; 33) groups. All received NSPT, whereas EG also one-on-one 30 min lessons from...

We study the Josephson-like spin currents between two ferromagnetic metals by deriving effective action of junction. A DC Josephson current with full O(3) symmetry is obtained. By analogy to superconducting junctions, we have shown that a time-independent uniform magnetic field can serve as source AC effect. That is, becomes periodic function time period proportional inverse magnitude external field.

Abstract Background Aortic dissection is a life-threatening syndrome that sometimes requires emergency intervention, and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) treatment option. Long-term image follow-up also required for patients after EVAR due to possible complications. Case presentation We present the case of 73-year-old male with underlying chronic renal disease diagnosed type A who underwent EVAR. A low-energy effective theory for interacting bosons on a one-dimensional lattice at and near integer fillings is proposed. It found that two sets of bosonic phase fields are necessary in order to explain the complete diagram. Using present theory, nature quantum transitions among various phases can be identified. Moreover, general condition appearance recently proposed Pfaffian-like state realized from our action.

In this paper, we revisit by carefully analyzing corresponding model solvable limit --- Emery-Kivelson line, where various crossover energy scales can be easily identified. We then try to extract scaling behavior from physical correlation functions within spirit ``poor man's scaling.'' Our conclusions support some recent suggestions made Coleman et al. [Phys. Rev. Most of the parameter region is occupied by a phase which superfluid fluctuations atoms and molecules are predominant ones, due to being locked Josephson coupling between them. When density difference close zero, two additional phases may exist: two-component Luttinger liquid, contains branches gapless excitations, interchannel charge wave where relative frozen at low energy.
