Abstract Hydroxylated monoterpenes (HMTPs) are differentially emitted by tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) plants resisting bacterial infection. We have studied the defensive role of these volatiles in response to bacteria, whose main entrance is through stomatal apertures. Treatments with some HMTPs resulted closure and pathogenesis-related protein 1 (PR1) induction. Particularly, α-terpineol induced a salicylic acid (SA) abscisic acid-independent manner conferred resistance bacteria....
Human mitochondria contain a molybdoprotein capable of reducing amidoximes using cytochrome b
Salicylic acid (SA) is a major plant hormone that mediates the defence pathway against pathogens. SA accumulates in highly variable amounts depending on plant-pathogen system, and several enzyme activities participate restoration of its levels. Gentisic (GA) product 5-hydroxylation SA, which catalysed by S5H, an activity regarded as player homeostasis. GA at high levels tomato plants infected Citrus Exocortis Viroid (CEVd), to lesser extend upon Pseudomonas syringae DC3000 pv. (Pst)...
Abstract Legume nodules express multiple leghemoglobins (Lbs) and non-symbiotic hemoglobins (Glbs), but how they are regulated is unclear. Here, we study the regulation of all Lbs Glbs Lotus japonicus in different physiologically relevant conditions mutant backgrounds. We quantified hemoglobin expression, localized reactive oxygen species (ROS) nitric oxide (NO) nodules, deployed mutants deficient transcription factors NLP4 (associated with nitrate sensitivity) NAC094 senescence). Expression...
ABSTRACT The phytohormone salicylic acid (SA or 2-hydroxybenzoic acid) plays an important role in plant biotic and abiotic responses. Gentisic (GA 2,5-Dihydroxybenzoic acid, 2,5-DHBA) is the product of SA 5-hydroxylation which catalysed by S5H enzyme, also known as DMR6. GA has been described to accumulate at high levels compatible plant-pathogen interactions such tomato plants infected Citrus Exocortis Viroid (CEVd), a much lesser extend upon Pseudomonas syringae DC3000 pv. ( Pst )...
