Significance Moving into oceanic islands after c. 50,000 years ago was a remarkable step forward in the history of worldwide expansion modern humans. However, developmental process Pleistocene maritime technology remains unclear. So far, only secure sources information for such discussions were Indonesian Archipelago and northern New Guinea as steppingstones from Asian continent to Australia. This article reports successful adaptation that extended ∼35,000 13,000 on small island environment...

Abstract Previous research indicates that human genetic diversity in Wallacea—islands present-day Eastern Indonesia and Timor-Leste were never part of the Sunda or Sahul continental shelves—has been shaped by complex interactions between migrating Austronesian farmers indigenous hunter–gatherer communities. Yet, inferences based on groups proved insufficient to disentangle this region’s demographic movements admixture timings. Here, we investigate spatio-temporal patterns variation Wallacea...

Nine human remains were recovered from Shiraho-Saonetabaru Cave on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, between 2007 and 2009. Six of the nine samples produced well-preserved biogenic collagen, which was submitted to radiocarbon dating by accelerator mass spectrometry. Three (Nos. 2, 4, 8) fossil chamber dated 16 20 ka BP, can clearly be assigned Late Pleistocene. One animal bone same treated measured for independently also great antiquity (c. 12 BP). These dates are first concrete...

Maritime migration and island adaptation by anatomically modern humans (AMH) are among the most significant current issues in Southeast Asian archaeology directly related to their behavioural technological advancement. In center of this research hotspot Wallacean islands, situated between Pleistocene landmasses Sunda Sahul. Two major routes have been suggested for initial maritime from via Wallacea into Sahul, a northern route region New Guinea southern leading Australia. Here, we report...

We have been able to induce sperm nuclear decondensation in the mussel Mytilus californianus (mollusc) using either egg extracts or pure nucleoplasmin from Xenopus (amphibian). The involves removal of basic proteins (SNBPs) which bind nucleoplasmin. An attempt has made isolate an ooplasmic factor with a similar sperm-chromatin decondensing activity. acidic, thermostable protein molecular mass 58,000 purified and partially characterized.

Background Facial skin pigmentation is one of the most prominent visible features aging and often affects perception health beauty. To date, facial has been evaluated using various image analysis methods developed for cosmetic esthetic fields. However, existing cannot provide precise information on pigmented spots, such as variations in size, color shade, distribution pattern. The purpose this study development evaluation to analyze individual spots acquire detailed their age‐related...

Abstract There are various autoimmunogenic antigens (AIs) in testicular germ cells (TGCs) recognized as foreign by the body’s immune system. However, there is little information of TGC-specific AIs being available. The aim this study to identify AIs. We have previously established that immunization using viable syngeneic TGC can also induce murine experimental autoimmune orchitis (EAO) without any adjuvant. This liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry analysis, followed...
