Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a disorder of the central nervous system resulting from various factors such as trauma, inflammation, tumors, and other etiologies. This condition leads to impairment in motor, sensory, autonomic functions below level injury. Limitations current therapeutic approaches prompt an investigation into angiogenesis through persistent local expression proangiogenic factors. Here, we investigated whether overexpression adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated vascular...

Cobalt (Co) ions, which can mimic hypoxia to promote angiogenesis, exhibit great potential for bone repair. However, a key point the use of Co ions is that their release profile should be controllable and, more importantly, suitable regeneration process. Here, 2-ethylimidazole (eIm) was introduced into zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) slow down Co-ion and fabricate eIm-doped ZIF-67 (eIm/ZIF-67), combined gelatin methacrylate (GelMA) obtain an in situ photo-cross-linking...

Hydrogel-based chondrocyte implantation presents a promising tissue engineering strategy for cartilage repair. However, the widely used elastic hydrogels usually restrict cell volume expansion and induce dedifferentiation of encapsulated chondrocytes. To address this limitation, photoannealed granular hydrogel (GH) composed hyaluronic acid, polyethylene glycol, gelatin was formulated regeneration in study. The unannealed GH prepared by Diels-Alder cross-linked microgels could be mixed with...

Excessive neuroinflammation after spinal cord injury (SCI) is a major hurdle during nerve repair. Although proinflammatory macrophage/microglia-mediated plays important roles, the underlying mechanism that triggers and aggravating factors remain unclear. The present study identified role of semaphorin3C (SEMA3C) in immunoregulation SCI. SEMA3C expression level peaked 7 days post-injury (dpi) decreased by 14 dpi.

The infrapatellar fat pad and synovium are the sites of immune cell infiltration origin proinflammation. Studies have shown that Hoffa's synovitis may be a sign early-stage osteoarthritis (OA). However, there been no effective interventions specifically for synovitis. We will conduct multicentre, multi-blind (participant, physician, outcome assessor data analyst blinded) randomised controlled trial to compare effectiveness an intra-infrapatellar glucocorticoid versus intra-articular...

Vaccines could strengthen the innate immune system in addition to conferring protection against their target pathogen via vaccine-induced immunomodulation, a phenomenon termed trained immunity. The purpose of present study was determine whether vaccination prior injury is associated with lower rate bone and joint infections (BJIs) patients open extremity fractures. Patients fractures treated at one hospital between January 2010 December 2019 were identified. Incidental vaccine recipients...

Traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) is a major clinical challenge, imposing significant burden on both patients and healthcare systems. The complexity of SCI stems from its multifactorial pathogenesis, incorporating variety regulating factors. Despite the exploration mechanisms pathophysiology development biomedical therapies, current interventions are still limited to surgical rehabilitative care. This study introduces an approach protect mitochondria-a pivotal factor in pathogenesis-through...
