Controversy remains as to whether the exercise stress test (EST) is sufficient for risk evaluation in patients with pre-excitation. This study aims clarify usefulness of EST stratification both asymptomatic and symptomatic presenting

Abstract Aortic stenosis (AS) is the most common form of valve disease. Once symptoms develop, there an inexorable deterioration with a poor prognosis; currently are no therapies capable modifying disease progression and aortic replacement only available treatment. Our goal to study calcification by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization imaging mass spectrometry (MALDI-IMS) get new insights at molecular level that could help in understanding this In work, we analyzed consecutive slices...

Abstract Aims Voltage-based ablation is a promising catheter strategy for atrial fibrillation (AF) in which low-voltage zones (LVZs) are targeted as complement to pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). In randomized setting, we intend investigate whether PVI plus of LVZs, compared PVI-only, decreases the incidence arrhythmia recurrence and improves health-related quality life (HRQoL) patients with persistent AF LVZs. Methods results Individually designed areas trial (IDEAL-AF; NCT04377594)...

Postablation atrial tachycardia (AT) is a significant complication following radiofrequency (RF) pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). Cryoballoon (CB) ablation an alternative technique for PVI that appears to have low incidence of AT. No direct comparison between AT risk in RF and CB has been made.To compare the characteristics ATs after with patients paroxysmal fibrillation (AF).All who underwent their first January 2006 September 2012 using either or were included. When repeat procedure was...

Multipoint pacing (MPP) permits simultaneous multisite of the left ventricle (LV); initial studies suggest haemodynamic and clinical benefits over conventional (single LV site) cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). The aim this study was to estimate impact MPP activation on battery longevity in routine practice.Patient (n = 46) device data were collected from two centres at least 3 months after MPP-CRT implantation. programming based maximal possible anatomical LV1/LV2 separation...

Abstract Aims This study evaluates the incidence of procedural complications related to catheter ablation atrial fibrillation (AF) assess potential feasibility and safety same‐day discharge in a large cohort. Methods We performed an analysis prospectively collected data all patients staying overnight after undergoing AF between 2001 2020 at tertiary center. Using medical records, we analyzed occurring intraprocedurally until 6 h postablation day procedure. Results In 5414 ablations,...

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with the development of dementia, and observational studies have shown that oral anticoagulation catheter ablation reduce dementia risk. However, such did not consistently report on periprocedural long-term coverage, for which reason separate effect AF risk could be established.

Abstract Background The differential diagnosis of regular wide QRS complex tachycardia (RWQRST) remains the subject numerous publications, all which aim at during acute phase. Although an accurate is necessary to make long‐term decisions, it often leads invasive testing. Methods Criteria with high positive predictive values (PPVs) for can be obtained by analyzing electrocardiogram (ECG) data RWQRST and comparing them these baseline. By assigning points criteria, a scoring algorithm...

Objective Catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation effectively reduces symptomatic burden. However, its long-term effect on mortality and stroke is unclear. We investigated if patients with who undergo catheter have lower risk for all-cause or than are managed medically. Methods retrospectively included 5628 consecutive underwent first-time between 2008 2018 at three major Swedish electrophysiology units. Control individuals an diagnosis but without previous were selected from the National...

Calcific aortic stenosis (CAS) is the most common heart valve disease in elderly, representing an important economic and social burden developed countries. Currently, there no way to predict either onset or progression of CAS, emphasizing need identify useful biomarkers for this condition. We performed a multi-proteomic analysis on different kinds samples from CAS patients healthy donors: tissue, secretome plasma. The results were validated independent cohort subjects by immunohistochemistry,...

We report a rare case of primary synovial sarcoma the pericardium. Surgical resection was incomplete and chemotherapy radiotherapy (tomotherapy) were therefore administered. Regular cardiac magnetic resonance imaging scans used throughout follow-up, allowing effective planning application adjuvant therapies. The survival our patient 26 months, substantially longer than most previously reported cases.
