The synthesis and chemical characterization of three new transplatinum complexes structural formula trans-[PtCl2(amine)(isopropylamine)] (amine = n,n-dimethylamine, propylamine, butylamine), 1−3, are described. Cytotoxicity tests in tumor cell lines sensitive to cis-DDP (Jurkat, Hela, Vero) also overexpressing ras oncogenes resistant (HL-60 Pam 212-ras) show that 1 3 have higher cytotoxic activity than cisplatin. Moreover, these two trans-Pt(II) kill 212-ras cells through apoptosis...

Abstract The DNA thermal stabilizing effect and antitumour properties of two diastereoisomeric cyclopalladiated compounds, Pd 2 [4‐CH 3 O–C 6 H 4 NC(COC 5 )C ] (μ‐OAc) (I II), derived from benzoylbenzylideneimines have been studied. atropisomers containing acetate‐bridged PdL units a folded structure in boat form. results show that both complexes interact with the double helix but compound II stabilizes more than I. It was also observed vitro antiproliferative activity against colon (CX‐1)...

Abstract The immune modulatory properties of recombinant antigens Kinetoplasmid membrane protein‐11 (KMP11) and Leishmania homologue receptors for activated C kinase (LACK) in cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) mucosal (ML) patients were evaluated. mean levels interferon‐γ (IFN‐γ) soluble leishmania antigen (SLA) stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) ML CL 5625 ± 2333 pg/ml 4422 3665 pg/ml, respectively. IFN‐γ was not detected cultures with KMP11 or LACK. Interleukin‐10 (IL‐10)...

Kinetoplasmid membrane protein-11 (KMP11) is present in a wide range of trypanosomatids. In the paper, we show that T. cruzi KMP11 gene organized cluster formed by four units arranged head-to-tail tandem manner located on chromosome about 1900 kb. Northern blot analyses indicated steady-state level mature transcripts 0.52 kb high and similar three forms parasite. The mRNAs have half-life 16 h whose strongly downregulated when parasites reach stationary growth phase. sequence presents...

ABSTRACT Serological tests with crude or recombinant Leishmania antigens are important tools for the diagnosis of leishmania infection. However, these not markers active visceral leishmaniasis (VL), since antibodies to often observed in individuals subclinical L. chagasi infection and they do fall shortly after therapy. In this study, levels immunoglobulin G (IgG) against three (rH2A, KMP11, “Q” protein) were evaluated sera from patients VL pre- posttherapy. The sensitivity serological test...
