From the beginning of 2007 until end 2011, 146 cases lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) were notified to Barcelona Public Health Agency. Some 49% them diagnosed and reported in mainly men who have sex with men. Almost half them, 32 cases, between July September. This cluster represents largest since 2004. article presents ongoing outbreak LGV Barcelona.

HIV-2 is a neglected virus despite estimates of 1-2 million people being infected worldwide. The naturally resistant to some antiretrovirals used treat HIV-1 and therapeutic options are limited for patients with HIV-2.In this retrospective observational study, we analysed all HIV-2-infected individuals treated integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs) recorded in the Spanish cohort. Demographics, treatment modalities, laboratory values, quantitative RNA CD4 counts as well drug resistance...

Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is a systemic sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by Chlamydia trachomatis (L serovars L1, L2 or L3). Since 2003, several outbreaks of rectal LGV affecting men who have sex with (MSM) occurred in western Europe [1]. The first case Spain was confirmed Barcelona 2005 [2], but no further cases been detected this city since until September 2007. We briefly summarise the characteristics diagnosed at outpatient STI clinic between 2007 and April 2008.

Background:
Identification of recent HIV infections provides a description the current pattern transmission and, consequently, can help to design better preventive interventions. Our study shows first implementation in Spain Serologic Testing Algorithm for Recent Seroconversion (STARHS) strategy. We assess viability introducing STARHS our setting and describe frequency epidemiological characteristics (RIs).
Methods:
Between 2003 2005, HIV-positive blood samples drawn...
