Restless legs syndrome (RLS) often presents with paresthesias and dysesthesisas. We have investigated the prevalence clinical features of RLS in a cohort patients referred for suspicion peripheral neuropathy (PN). Sixty-four sensory symptoms, 101 age-matched controls were prospectively evaluated RLS, PN causes both conditions. In 64 (60 +/- 14 years), none RLS. Forty-one had sensori-motor which 22 definite (54%). When excluding other 8 41 associated (20%). The proportion healthy was 10%,...

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has a poor prognosis, with 5-year overall survival rate of 10%. In November 2018, NCCN recommended that all patients PDAC receive genetic counseling (GC) and germline testing regardless family history. We hypothesized were more likely to be referred for after this change the guidelines, presumed predictive factors, compliance would further improved following implementation hereditary cancer clinic (HCC).

Abstract Background and Objectives The SARS‐COVID‐19 pandemic significantly limited healthcare access. We sought to evaluate whether California's lockdown in March 2020 affected staging time treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). hypothesized that patients diagnosed after the would have longer higher stage at presentation. Methods retrospectively identified categorized 1294 presenting five University California systems with a new diagnosis PDAC into “pre‐lockdown”...

Summary. The t(8;21) (q22;q22) translocation is a recurring chromosomal abnormality observed in about 20‐40% of AML patients with subtype FAB M2 (AML‐M2). molecular facet this represented by the formation new hybrid gene, AML1‐ETO, which regularly transcribed chimaeric mRNA and translated into fusion protein believed to have key role pathogenesis type leukaemia. We looked for presence AML1‐ETO transcripts, RT‐PCR, 49 unselected affected AML‐M2 diagnosed at various Italian Institutions. A...

Objectives. Self-administered vaginal swabs were used to determine the prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis in a population under 25 years age order evaluate if this is an acceptable and accurate method compared traditional cervical swabs. Methods. Patients asked perform double self-administered swab prior swab. One self-collected was with AMPLIFIED CT DNA PROBING (GENPROBE bioMérieux) that based on probe against amplified target for identification ribosomal RNA. The remaining two processed...

Parts of the Bcr/Abl hybrid transcript supposed to be important for its transforming ability were sequenced in a series CML blast crises, order evaluate possible presence alterations responsible disease transition from chronic acute phase. In addition, N and Ki-ras as well p53 involvement was investigated by exploring their structure expression same patients. We used traditional types molecular analysis including Southern Northern blot, together with methods that allow rapid detection point...

Chlamydia trachomatis (C.t.) infection is one of the most prevalent sexually transmitted disease in Europe and developed countries. The main biological features pathogenic mechanisms C.t. are summarized this review. It usually occurs without symptoms often goes undiagnosed. If untreated, it can cause severe consequences for women, including pelvic inflammatory (PID), ectopic pregnancy tubal infertility. Several studies have found that more common among young women <25 years old, with...

Abstract: Repeated PCR analysis was performed on bone marrow and/or peripheral blood samples from 4 CML patients in complete cytogenetic remission during treatment with IFN‐α. Two became PCR‐negative. One negative for the analyses carried out 9th to 30th months, but reverted positivity 10 months after IFN reduced 1.5 × 6 IU/day 1 IU and given alternate days. Although dose again raised 3 IU/day, 8 later her cells were still PCR‐positive, remained persistently Ph'‐negative. Another patient...
