The occurrence of 187 pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) was investigated in bottled water samples (35 33 from Chinese foreign brands, respectively). Forty-four compounds belonging to 14 PPCP categories were detected 56 the 68 samples. Further, more than 35% contained at least three PPCPs, one particular sample, 11 different PPCPs detected. Macrolides constituted most prevalent category, salbutamol, erythromycin, azithromycin showed highest detection frequency (17.6%)....
Matrix assisted inlet ionization (MAII) is a method in which matrix:analyte mixture produces mass spectra nearly identical to electrospray without the application of voltage or use laser as required laserspray (LSI), subset MAII. In MAII, sample introduced by, for example, tapping particles dried into spectrometer and, therefore, permits study conditions pertinent formation multiply charged ions need absorption at wavelength. Crucial production highly are desolvation remove matrix molecules...
Cyanogen chloride (CNCl) and trichloramine (NCl3) are important disinfection byproducts in chlorinated swimming pools. However, some unknowns exist regarding the precursors of their formation. In this study, uric acid is shown to be an efficient precursor formation CNCl NCl3. The molar yields NCl3 were observed as high 44% (pH = 6.0, chlorine/precursor ratio [Cl/P] 6.4) 108% 7.0, Cl/P 30), respectively, both being strong functions Cl/P, pH, temperature. Analysis pool water samples, combined...
Exhaustive hydro-distillation of Descurainia sophia (L.) Webb ex Prantl (flixweed) collected from two different locations (Cangzhou city-Sample 1 and Beijing 2) gave in both cases yellowish colored oils 0.31 0.26% yield, respectively. Detailed chemical composition the essential was analyzed by GC GC/MS, forty thirty-eight compounds were identified. The results indicated that most abundant component Sample 1were cis-β-ocimene (20.1%), menthol (11.27%), neoisomenthyl acetate (3.5%),...
Carbamate insecticides, which are common micropollutants in surface waters, were found to generate dichloromethlyamine (DCMA) during chlorination. DCMA formation from other precursors has been reported previously; it is part of the emerging class nitrogen-based disinfection byproducts (N-DBPs) health concern chlorinated water. However, there a limited understanding about its formation, stability, and toxicity. Four carbamate insecticides (methomyl, carbofuran, carbaryl, thiodicarb) examined...
We identified an efficient protocol for extracting proteins from whole earthworm, Eisenia fetida, 2-DE. Sample preparation is a critical step in 2-DE proteome approach and absolutely essential obtaining good results. Six protein extraction protocols based on different precipitation agents were tested evaluated using The methods generated remarkably spot patterns. conclude that trichloroacetic acid (TCA)-A eliminates interfering compounds, thus allowing the resolubilization of proteins. TCA-A...
Methyl halides play important roles in stratospheric ozone depletion, but their formation mechanisms are not well defined. This study demonstrated that iron-based photochemistry significantly enhanced alkyl halide production by promoting the reaction of representative monomer lignin with ions saline water under solar light irradiation. The methyl chloride (CH3Cl) emission from light/Fe(III) process was 2 orders magnitude higher than dark treatment and absence iron. In addition, bromide...
Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) mass (MS) centers on the ability to separate gaseous structures by size, charge, shape, and followed mass-to-charge (m/z). For oligomeric structures, improved separation is hypothesized be related extend through repulsive forces between cations electrostatically bonded oligomers. Here we show differently branched multiply charged ions of star-branched poly(ethylene glycol) oligomers (up 2000 Da) regardless whether formed electrospray ionization (ESI) solution...
Near infrared microscopy imaging offers the opportunity to explore not only what kinds of chemical species are present at micro-scale level but also where would be present. By revealing spectral and spatial information, technique can identify localize any interested component. This study investigates feasibility using detect melamine in soybean meal. The results showed that 6805 cm -1 is very sensitive for meal, so used univariate analysis. Single wavelength image peak integration simple...
Bakanae disease, caused by Fusarium fujikuroi, is a serious problem in rice production. This disease widespread across the world and leads to substantial yield losses. F. fujikuroi known produce various secondary metabolites, including plant hormone gibberellin, which induces typical bakanae symptoms. In this article, authors overviewed methods for controlling use of host resistance, chemical compounds, biocontrol agents, natural products, physical methods. Although strategies have been...
