The analyzing power AN in inclusive π− and π+ production has been measured with a 200 GeV/c transversely polarized antiproton beam over wide xF range (0.2≤xF≤0.9) at moderate pT (0.2≤pT≤1.5GeV/c). asymmetry increases increasing from zero to large positive values for π−'s, decreases negative π+'s. A threshold the onset of is observed about pT∼0.5GeV/c, below which essentially above (decreases) π−'s ( π+'s) covered range.Received 17 April...
Measurements of the production forward jets from transversely polarized proton collisions at s=500 GeV conducted Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) are reported. Our measured jet cross section is consistent with hard scattering expectations. analyzing power for small and positive, provides constraints on Sivers functions that related to partonic orbital angular momentum through theoretical models.
The Spin Asymmetries of the Nucleon Experiment measured two double spin asymmetries using a polarized proton target and electron beam at energies, 4.7 5.9 GeV. A large-acceptance open-configuration detector package identified scattered electrons 40\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} covered wide range in Bjorken $x$ ($0.3<x<0.8$). Proportional to an average color Lorentz force, twist-3 matrix element, ${\stackrel{\texttildelow{}}{d}}_{2}^{p}$, was extracted from ${Q}^{2}$ values ranging 2.0...
The considerable polarization of hyperons produced at high xF has been known for a long time and interpreted with various theoretical models in terms the constituents' spin. Recently, analyzing power inclusive Λ0 hyperon production also measured using 200GeV/c Fermilab polarized proton beam. covered kinematic range is 0.2≤xF≤1.0 0.1≤pT≤1.5GeV/c. data indicate negative asymmetry large moderate pT. These results can further test current ideas on underlying mechanisms polarization.Received 5...
The analyzing power (spin-dependent azimuthal asymmetry) has been observed for the first time in nuclear Coulomb coherent production process, ``Primakoff process,'' with use of newly constructed 185-GeV/c Fermilab polarized proton beam. We have a large asymmetry this process regions \ensuremath{\Vert}t'\ensuremath{\Vert}0.001 (GeV/c${)}^{2}$ and 1.36(${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$p)1.52 GeV/${c}^{2}$, where is predominant. measured consistent existing low-energy...
Coherent π+π−π− production in the interactions of a beam 600GeV π− mesons with C, Cu and Pb nuclei has been studied SELEX facility (Experiment E781 at Fermilab). The a2(1320) meson signal detected Coulomb (low q2) region. Primakoff formalism used to extract radiative decay width this yields Γ=284±25±25keV, which is most precise measurement date.
Abstract Fundamental research in the field of high energy physics and nuclear is carried out at large international experiments with joint participation scientific organizations universities. This article discusses features a university projects Mega-science class by example National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. MEPhI actively involved development, operation, modernization class, such as LHC, FAIR, NICA, RHIC, ITER, NEVOD. Participation these megaprojects gives an opportunity to gain...
With data taken by SELEX, which accumulated during the 1996-1997 fixed target run at Fermilab, we study production of charmed hadrons on copper and carbon targets with Sigma-, p, pi-, pi+ beams. Parameterizing cross section A^alpha, A being atomic number, determine alpha for D+, D0, Ds+, D+(2010), Lambda_c+, their respective anti-particles, as a function transverse momentum pt scaled longitudinal xF. Within our statistics there is no dependence xF any charm species interval 0.1
We report on the measurement of one-dimensional charged kaon correlation functions using 600~GeV/{\it c} $\Sigma^-$, $\pi^-$ and 540~GeV/{\it $p$ beams from SELEX~(E781) experiment at Fermilab Tevatron. $K^{\pm}K^{\pm}$ are studied for three transverse pair momentum, $k_T$, ranges parameterized by a Gaussian form. The emission source radii, $R$, strength, $\lambda$, extracted. analysis shows decrease radii with increasing momentum all beam types.
First results on the polarization of $$\Lambda $$ hyperons inclusively produced 26.5-GeV/ c $${{K}^{ - }}$$ and $${{\pi }^{ beams are presented. The measurements were carried out using SPASCHARM setup at U-70 accelerator facility (Protvino, Russia) nuclear targets in 2021 2022. an hyperon beam does not exceed several percent most studied kinematic region. data obtained -meson exhibit a significant positive large values Feynman variable x F transverse momentum p T measured for first time nuclei.
The production of $D_s^-$ relative to $D_s^+$ as a function $x_F $ with 600 GeV/c $\Sigma^-$ beam is measured in the interval $0.15 < x_F 0.7$ by SELEX (E781) experiment at Fermilab. integrated charge asymmetries ($0.53\pm0.06$) and $\pi^-$ ($0.06\pm0.11$) are also compared. results show fragments play role $D_s^-$, suggested leading quark model.
