Background: Reduced insulin secretion is linked to diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD), but its role in non-diabetic CVD patients unclear. The homeostasis model assessment of β-cell function (HOMA-β) measures pancreatic function. This study investigated the association between HOMA-β adverse events patients.

The psoas muscle area (PMA) and rectus femoris (RFMA) have been used to estimate whole-body mass in elderly patients. However, it is unclear whether combining these measurements can improve the predictive ability of traditional risk factors for adverse clinical events patients with aortic valve stenosis (AVS). We analyzed data from 153 AVS who underwent transcatheter replacement (TAVR), measured PMA RFMA using computed tomography (CT) before procedure. This study assessed a composite...

Abstract Background Improved renal function (IRF) observed in acute heart failure (AHF) is associated with poor prognosis. Since IRF linked to congestion resulting from inadequate decongestion, predicting could enhance management strategies. The Fibrosis-4 (Fib-4) index, originally developed as a marker for liver fibrosis, correlates hepatic congestion, which making it potential predictor of IRF. This study aims investigate whether the Fib-4 index can predict patients AHF and preserved...

Background: This study assesses clinical outcomes after drug-eluting balloon treatment for recurrent in-stent restenosis lesions based on the number of metallic layers. Methods and Results: We enrolled 304 consecutive patients (333 lesions) treated with percutaneous coronary intervention using between March 2014 June 2015. Per stent layers previously implanted to lesion, were categorized into 3 groups, 1 layer (1L), 166 patients; 2 (2L), 87 ≥3 (≥3L), 51 patients. The end points major adverse...

Abstract Persistent coronary endothelial dysfunction predicts future adverse events; however, performing multiple invasive function tests is difficult in actual clinical practice. This study examined the association between carotid plaque progression and persistent using serial assessments of vasomotor response to acetylcholine (ACh) infarct-related artery (IRA) among patients with ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI). included 169 consecutive a first STEMI due left anterior...

Although plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) is abundantly expressed in infarcted myocardium, the pathogenic role of myocardial PAI-1 remains unknown. This study examined whether lesion contributes to coronary endothelial dysfunction and left ventricular (LV) patients with acute infarction (AMI).Plasma levels activity tissue-plasminogen (tPA) antigen were measured 2 weeks 6 months after MI by ELISA plasma obtained from aortic root (AO) anterior interventricular vein (AIV) 28 a first...

Abstract The accuracy of computed tomography number to electron density ( CT ‐ ED ) calibration is a key component for dose calculations in an inhomogeneous medium. In previous work, it was shown that the tolerance levels became stricter with increase tissue thickness and decrease effective energy photon beam. For last decade, low beam (e.g., flattening‐filter‐free FFF )) has been used clinical sites. However, its level not established yet. We relative each type were calculated using maximum...

The common carotid artery (CCA) usually divides into the internal (ICA) and external (ECA). We present an extremely rare case of a non-bifurcating through which intra-arterial chemotherapy for laryngeal cancer was administered. CCA angiogram, as well ultrasonographic evaluation arteries, demonstrated that subsequently constituted ICA. Furthermore, several branches normally given off by ECA arose directly from single artery. Superselective infusion cis-diamminedichloroplatinum (II) (CDDP) performed.

Computed tomography (CT) data are required to calculate the dose distribution in a patient's body. Generally, there two CT number calibration methods for commercial radiotherapy treatment planning system (RTPS), namely number-relative electron density (CT-RED calibration) and number-mass (CT-MD calibration). In previous study, tolerance levels of CT-RED were established each tissue type. The when relative error local reached 2%. However, CT-MD not yet. We based on calibration. order convert...
