In localized light chain amyloidosis (locAL), amyloidogenic chains (aLC) are produced and deposited locally by a B-cell clone. We present 293 patients with immunohistochemically confirmed locAL. Lung (nodular pulmonary) 63 was the most involved organ. The aLC λ in 217 cases (κ:λ ratio 1:3). A local clone identified 30% of cases. Sixty-one (21%) had concomitant autoimmune disorder (cAD). monoclonal component (MC) were 101 (34%) more frequent subjects cAD (51% vs 34%; P = .03). Cigarette...
Abstract Purpose The management of soft tissue sarcoma (STS) at reference centers with specialized multidisciplinary tumor boards (MTB) improves patient survival. German Cancer Society (DKG) certifies in German-speaking countries, promoting high standards care. This study investigated the variability treatment recommendations for localized STS across different tertiary centers. Methods In this cross-sectional case-based survey study, 5 anonymized cases imaging data were presented to MTBs 21...
Abstract Introduction Burns that involve the perineum, buttocks and genitals (PBG) have been associated independently with more challenging therapeutic needs worse clinical outcomes in case series smaller patient collectives, while large scale epidemiology of this injury is lacking. We studied a cohort 1024 patients admitted to our burn center assess based on presence PBG burns. Methods Medical records were screened for who did or not sustain burns stratified accordingly (PBG vs. control...
