Abstract Background The neuropathological hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) are amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques and neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs). amyloid cascade theory is the leading hypothesis AD pathology. Aβ deposition precedes aggregation tau pathology precipitates Evidence also indicates reciprocal interactions between However, detailed relationship in remains elusive. Metformin might have a positive effect on cognitive impairments. whether metformin can reduce AD-related pathologies...

Abstract Revealing the energy transfer (ET) process from excitons to rare earth ions in halide perovskites has great guiding value for designing optoelectronic materials. Here, multiple ET channels multi‐exciton emissive Sb 3+ /Nd co‐doped Cs 2 ZrCl 6 are explored comprehend processes. Förster–Dexter theory reveals that sensitizer concentration rather than overlap integral of spectra plays leading function comparison efficiency among host self‐trapped (STEs) and dopant triplet STEs Nd ions....

Glymphatic dysfunction may contribute to the accumulation of Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathologies. Conversely, AD pathologic change might also cause neuroinflammation and aggravate glymphatic dysfunction, forming a loop that accelerates progression. In vivo validations are needed confirm their relationships. In this study, we included 144 cognitively normal participants with pathological biomarker data (baseline CSF Aβ1-42, T-Tau, P-Tau181; plasma P-Tau181 at baseline least one follow-up)...

Wilms' tumor gene WT1 is overexpressed in leukemia and various types of solid tumors plays an important role leukemogenesis tumorigenesis. We tested apoptosis-inducing ability short hairpin RNAs targeting exon 5 (shWTE5), exon10 (shWTE10) 3'UTR (shWT3U) the gene. Among three WT1-shRNAs, since shWTE5 most effectively induced apoptosis, its as agent was intensively examined. mitochondrial damage resultant apoptosis five WT1-expressing cancer cells originated from gastric (AZ-521), lung...

Biomacromolecular folding kinetics involves fast events and broad timescales. Current techniques face limitations in either the required time resolution or observation window. In this study, we developed TeZla micromixer, integrating Tesla Zigzag microstructures with a multistage velocity descending strategy. achieves significant short mixing dead (40 µs) wide window covering four orders of magnitude (up to 300 ms). A transition-metal-free electrochemical chalcogenative cyclization of 2-alkynyl aryl oxime with dichalcogenides has been established to assemble valuable 4-organochalcogen isoquinolines concisely. This protocol proceeds via constant electrolysis in a user-friendly undivided cell setup. It circumvents the necessity transition metal catalysts, chemical oxidants, and harsh reaction conditions. The practical utilities current were illustrated by excellent functional group tolerance, remarkable...

Objective: To assess the value of Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) during acute phase in predicting post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) at 3-6 months. Methods: We prospectively recruited 229 patients who had suffered their first-ever ischemic stroke. PSCI was determined 104 these by a comprehensive neuropsychological battery performed Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis then to compare discriminatory ability MMSE MoCA. Abstract A convenient and effective method of ruthenium‐catalyzed C−H/N−H annulations using vinylene carbonate as oxidizing acetylene surrogate has been disclosed. This is scalable compatible with a wide range functional groups, providing step‐economical access to indole synthesis Preliminary mechanistic studies provided support for reversible, acetate‐assisted C−H ruthenation, along subsequent olefin insertion. magnified image

Background: Predicting the prognosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) has outstanding clinical value, and hippocampal volume is a reliable imaging biomarker AD diagnosis. Objective: We aimed to longitudinally assess sub-regional difference (volume asymmetry) among progressive MCI (pMCI), stable (sMCI) patients, normal elderly. Methods: identified 29 pMCI, 52 sMCI, 102 controls (NC) from ADNI database. All participants underwent neuropsychological assessment 3T MRI scans three times. The...

Herein, we report a highly efficient ruthenium-catalyzed peri-selective C(sp2)–H acylmethylation of 1-naphthols with α-carbonyl sulfoxonium ylides by utilizing hydroxyl as weakly coordinating directing group. This new method imparts good reactivity, excellent chemo- and regioselectivity, broad functional group tolerance involves mild reaction conditions. The C–H acylmethylated products can be readily cyclized into fluorescent annulated pyrans one-pot process.

An efficient ruthenium-catalyzed direct C-H selenylation of aryl acetic amides and esters has been achieved via distal weakly coordination. Notable features this protocol including broad substrate scope, wide functional group tolerance, good regioselectivity. In addition, diaryl disulfides were also successfully applied to reaction under slightly modified conditions.
