The complex immunosuppressive tumour microenvironment (TME) and lack of tumour-specific targets hinder the application chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells in treatment solid tumours. Combining local with CAR cell immunotherapy may regulate TME enhance killing potency Here, we show that AXL, which is highly expressed non-small lung cancer (NSCLC) but not normal tissues, might be a target for therapy. AXL-CAR alone cause moderate regression subcutaneous pulmonary metastatic cell-derived...

Abstract Cucurbitacin B (CuB) is a widely available triterpenoid molecule that exhibits various biological activities. Previous studies on the anti-tumour mechanism of CuB have mostly focused cell apoptosis, and research ferroptosis-inducing effect has rarely been reported. Herein, we first discovered excellent cytotoxicity towards human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells elucidated its potential mechanisms. Morphology alterations mitochondrial ultrastructure, as observed via transmission...

Identification of essential proteins based on protein interaction network (PIN) is a very important and hot topic in the post genome era. Up to now, number network-based discovery methods have been proposed. Generally, static was constructed by using protein-protein interactions obtained from different experiments or databases. Unfortunately, most are sensitive reliability PIN. In this paper, we propose new method for constructing refined PIN gene expression profiles subcellular location...

Recent studies have shown the therapeutic potential of curcumin in Alzheimer's disease (AD). In 2014, our lab found that reduced Aβ40, Aβ42 and Aβ-derived diffusible ligands mouse hippocampus, improved learning memory. However, mechanisms underlying this biological effect are only partially known. There is considerable evidence brain metabolism indicating AD might be a brain-specific type diabetes with progressive impairment glucose utilisation insulin signalling. We hypothesised target both...

Deficits in glucose, impaired insulin signalling and brain resistance are common the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD); therefore, some scholars even called AD type 3 diabetes mellitus. Curcumin can reduce amyloid pathology AD. Moreover, it is a well-known fact that curcumin has anti-oxidant anti-inflammatory properties. However, whether or not could regulate signal transduction pathway remains unclear. In this study, we used APPswe/PS1dE9 double transgenic mice as model to...

Essential proteins are those necessary for the survival or reproduction of species and discovering such essential is fundamental understanding minimal requirements cellular life, which also meaningful to disease study drug design. With development high-throughput techniques, a large number Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) can be used identify at network level. Up now, though series network-based computational methods have been proposed, it still challenge improve prediction precision as...

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) play essential roles in maintaining intestinal health and have been suggested as possible therapeutic strategies against inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, the instability of AMPs process transmission vivo limits their application treatment IBD. In this study, we constructed mBD14-producing Lactococcus lactis NZ9000 (L. lactis/mBD14) to achieve enteric delivery mBD14 evaluated its protective effect on dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced colitis.
