Abstract Background This study aimed to explore the association between triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and risk of in-hospital mortality in critically ill patients with sepsis. Methods was a retrospective observational cohort data were obtained from Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV (MIMIC IV2.2) database. The participants grouped into three groups according TyG tertiles. primary outcome all-cause mortality. Multivariable logistics proportional regression analysis restricted...

Hypervirulent and multidrug resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae strains pose a significant threat to the public health. In present study, 21 carbapenem-resistant K. isolates (CRKP) were determined by string test as hypermucoviscous (HMKP), with prevalence of 15.0% (21/140) among CRKP, 1.1% (21/1838) all isolates. Among them, 7 (33.3%), 1 (4.76%) isolate belonged capsular serotype K20 K2 respectively, while 13 (61.9%, 13/21) weren't successfully typed serotyping. All carbapenemase-producers...

Inflammation plays an important role in the initiation and progression of acute kidney injury (AKI). However, evidence regarding prognostic effect platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), a novel systemic inflammation marker, among patients with AKI is scarce. In this study, we investigated value PLR predicting outcomes critically ill AKI. Patient data were extracted from Multiparameter Intelligent Monitoring Intensive Care Database III version 1.3. cutoff values determined using smooth curve...

Abstract Uncontrolled hemorrhage is still the most common cause of potentially preventable death after trauma in prehospital settings. However, there rarely are hemostatic materials that can achieve safely and efficiently rapid hemostasis simultaneously. Here, new carbonized cellulose‐based aerogel material developed for management noncompressible torso hemorrhage, intractable issue uncontrolled hemorrhage. The cellulose derived from Agaricus bisporus a series processing, including cutting,...

Abstract Uncontrollable massive bleeding caused by trauma will cause the patient to lose a large amount of blood and drop body temperature quickly, resulting in hemorrhagic shock. This study aims develop hemostatic product for hemorrhage management. In this study, waste pomelo peel as raw material is chosen. It underwent processes carbonization, purification, freeze‐drying. The obtained carbonized (CPP) hydrophilic exhibits porous structure (nearly 80% porosity). water/blood absorption ratio...

Background Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to be involved in the development and progression of lung cancer. However, roles lncRNAs cancer are not well understood. Methodology/Principal Findings We used a high-throughput microarray compare lncRNA messenger RNA (mRNA) expression profiles adenocarcinoma normal tissue (NT) samples. Several candidate adenocarcinoma-associated were verified by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis....

Abstract Acute lung injury (ALI), characterized by inflammatory damage, is a major clinical challenge. Developing specific treatment options for ALI requires the identification of novel targetable signaling pathways. Recent studies reported that endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced TLR4-dependent activation focal adhesion kinase (FAK) in colorectal adenocarcinoma cells, suggesting FAK may be involved LPS-induced responses. Here, we investigated involvement and mechanism mediating...

Sepsis is a serious life-threatening disease. Bacterial infection one of the main causes sepsis. Although etiopathogenesis gradually understood, treatment still scarce. Mortality caused by sepsis challenge. Herein, macrophage membrane coated antimicrobial peptide nanoparticles (M−AMPNP) was explored based on specific binding bacterial recognition receptors to bacteria. M−AMPNP used treat infection. Bacterial infection and scar formation remain primary challenges in wound healing. To address these issues, we developed a decellularized pomelo peel (DPP) functionalized with an adhesive PVA-TSPBA hydrogel antibacterial gallic acid/copper MOFs. The hybrid dressing demonstrates favorable biocompatibility. It does not impede the proliferation of fibroblasts or immune cells can stimulate fibroblast migration, endothelial angiogenesis, M2 macrophage polarization. Additionally, scavenge reactive...

Abstract Background Sepsis is an infection-induced aggressive and life-threatening organ dysfunction with high morbidity mortality worldwide. Infection-associated inflammation coagulation promote the progression of adverse outcomes in sepsis. Here, we report that phospho-Tyr705 STAT3 (pY-STAT3), not total STAT3, contributes to systemic coagulopathy Methods Cecal ligation puncture (CLP)-induced septic mice were treated BP-1-102, Napabucasin, or vehicle control respectively then assessed for...
