Acne affects 1 in 10 people globally, often resulting disfigurement. The disease involves excess production of lipids, particularly squalene, increased growth Cutibacterium acnes, and a host inflammatory response with foamy macrophages. By combining single-cell spatial RNA sequencing as well ultrahigh-resolution Seq-Scope analyses early acne lesions on back skin, we identified TREM2 macrophages expressing lipid metabolism proinflammatory gene programs proximity to hair follicle epithelium...

Abstract Background Acne vulgaris is a common skin disease with large quality of life impact, characterized by comedones, inflammatory lesions, secondary dyspigmentation and scarring. There are few objective studies comparing acne epidemiology between racial ethnic groups. Objective This study aimed to define the prevalence subtypes in women different groups from four ethnicities. Methods The sample consisted 2895 (384 African American, 520 Asian, 1295 Caucasian, 258 Hispanic 438 Continental...

A comprehensive understanding of the intricate cellular and molecular changes governing complex interactions between cells within acne lesions is currently lacking. Herein, we analyzed early papules from six subjects with active vulgaris, utilizing single-cell high-resolution spatial RNA sequencing. We observed significant in signaling pathways across seven different cell types when comparing lesional skin samples (LSS) to healthy (HSS). Using CellChat, constructed an atlas for HSS,...

Abstract A number of lesions have been documented to arise within congenital melanocytic nevi ( CMNs ). Although the most frequent malignancy arising a CMN is melanoma, association between rhabdomyosarcoma and has rarely documented. We present case in 4‐month‐old girl with giant CMN. She presented for evaluation pedunculated lesion at superior gluteal crease that had since birth exhibited rapid growth. Biopsy revealed two distinct components: an expansile proliferation pleomorphic cells...

Abstract Orf is a zoonotic parapoxvirus typically transmitted to humans by bite from goats or sheep. We present an unusual case of multiple orf lesions on the fingers 13‐month‐old child who was bitten goat and subsequently developed progressive swelling, blistering, necrotic papulonodules hand followed additional diffuse, pruritic, papular rash. A primary diagnosis infection confirmed using real‐time polymerase chain reaction, diffuse eruption clinically consistent with id reaction....

Many baby cleansers are promoted as hypoallergic products; however, these claims not typically validated. This study assessed the 50 best-selling from online retailer Amazon for potential allergens. We found that presence of most marketing claims, including "hypoallergenic" or "allergy-tested," did correlate with number allergens in a cleanser. Furthermore, total cleanser was positively correlated allergens, highlighting discordance between and allergen content cleansers.

Severe mosquito bite allergy (SMBA) is characterized by necrotic skin lesions and systemic symptoms. Chronic active Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection, when superimposed with SMBA, a key driver for catastrophic clinical consequences, such as uncontrolled lymphoproliferation. This interplay of significance due to its association hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and/or EBV-driven malignancies. Here, we report case SMBA that developed in 14-year-old Hispanic boy led fatal secondary HLH.
