Current hybridization protocols on microarrays are slow and need skilled personnel. Microfluidics is an emerging science that enables the processing of minute volumes liquids to perform chemical, biochemical, or enzymatic analyzes. The merging microfluidics microarray technologies constitutes elegant solution will automate speed up hybridization. We developed a microfluidic flow cell consisting network chambers channels molded into polydimethylsiloxane substrate. substrate was aligned...

ABSTRACT The presence of Enterococcus -associated vancomycin resistance genes vanA , vanB vanD vanE and vanG in rectal swabs was investigated two hospitals using PCR. All detected were associated with vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), whereas VRE-associated only one hospital (4.7%). However, both hospitals, high prevalences (6.2 2.3%), (43.8 26.7%), (10.5 6.9%) not found.

Abstract The emergence of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was met with rapid development robust molecular-based detection assays. Many SARS-CoV-2 molecular tests target multiple genetic regions the virus to maximize and protect against diagnostic escape. Despite relatively moderate mutational rate SARS-CoV-2, numerous mutations known negative impact on assays have been identified. In early 2021, we identified four samples positive for a nucleocapsid (N) gene drop...

Abstract We developed a single diagnostic assay to detect Glioma biomarkers including whole chromosomal and gene copy number variations (CNVs), nucleotide (SNVs). CNVs SNVs are traditionally detected using different large/high-throughput platforms that can only exist in big genomic facilities. This leads very high molecular costs long turnaround times. The current complex algorithm creates delays patient management while increasing inequity healthcare as smaller non-centralized labs unable...

The hybridization behavior of small oligonucleotides arrayed on glass slides is currently unpredictable. In order to examine the efficiency capture probes along target nucleic acid, 20-mer oligonucleotide were designed hybridize at different distances from 5′ end two overlapping 402- and 432-bp ermB products amplified DNA. These immobilized via their onto hybridized with labeled products. Evaluation signal for each probe revealed an inverse correlation length overhanging captured strand...

We explore a new calibration-free approach to biodetection based on whispering gallery modes (WGMs) without reference measure and relative shifts. Thus, the requirement keep track of sensor position is removed, freely moving population fluorophore-doped polystyrene microspheres can now fulfill this role sensing resonator. Breaking free from fixed surface-based biosensing promotes adhesion between microsphere sensors analytes since both be thoroughly mixed. The 70-nm-wide spectrum green...

We propose new parameters to characterize a whispering gallery mode spectrum, which can be regarded as reliable independent biodetection indicators for an instantaneous microsphere's spectrum. With these parameters, since there is no need spectral comparison analyte-free reference, three-dimensional stirring of fluorescent microspheres in fluidic setup allowed. Through analysis the presence bacterial spores, we found five insightful quantitative biodetection. Unveiled by this analysis,...
