OBJECTIVE : Oral lichen planus (OLP) is chronic inflammatory disease of the oral mucosa, presenting in various clinical forms. The etiology OLP still unknown but mounting evidence points to immunologic basis this disorder. Aim Our study was undertaken quantify salivary levels pro‐inflammatory tumor necrosis factor‐alpha (TNF‐α) reticular and erosive/atrophic forms OLP, compared with age‐matched healthy control volunteers. Subjects methods Whole saliva from 40 patients active lesions as well...

A population analysis of 103 multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates from Croatian hospitals was performed. Twelve sequence types (STs) were identified, with a predominance international clones ST235 (serotype O11 [41%]), ST111 O12 [15%]), and ST132 O6 [11%]). Overexpression the natural AmpC cephalosporinase common (42%), but only few or produced VIM-1 VIM-2 metallo-β-lactamases PER-1 GES-7 extended-spectrum β-lactamases.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen, one of the leading causes nosocomial infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and bacteraemia. The bacterial resistance to structurally unrelated antibiotics its spread within hospitals limits efficient antimicrobial options patients' outcome. Carbapenems are important agents for therapy due multidrug-resistant (MDR) P. aeruginosa; hence, development carbapenem severely hampers effective therapeutic options. aim this...

ABSTRACT Brazil faces unique challenges in managing invasive fungal infections (IFIs) due to diverse ecosystems, a rural workforce, and prevalent health conditions. In Europe, IFIs are primarily associated with transplantation, intensive care, chronic diseases. Inspired by initiatives the Caribbean Latin America 2019, efforts map global diagnostic treatment resources expanded Africa, Asia/Pacific. Significance There are a number of pathogens for which the immunity acquired postinfection does not fully protect against reinfection and disease. Therefore, vaccines offering superior protection compared with following natural infection needed. Due to unique pattern immune response induced by cytomegaloviruses (CMVs), live attenuated CMVs attractive candidates vaccine vectors. Here we have demonstrated that recombinant CMV vector expressing RAE-1γ, cellular ligand activating NKG2D receptor...
