Aim To describe a group of distinct low‐grade oncocytic renal tumours that demonstrate CD117 negative/cytokeratin (CK) 7‐positive immunoprofile. Methods and results We identified 28 such from four large tumour archives. performed immunohistochemistry for: CK7, CD117, PAX8, CD10, AMACR, e‐cadherin, CK20, CA9, AE1/AE3, vimentin, BerEP4, MOC31, CK5/6, p63, HMB45, melan A, CD15 FH. In 14 cases we array CGH, with successful result in nine cases. Median patient age was 66 years (range 49–78 years)...
Low-grade oncocytic tumour (LOT) of the kidney has recently emerged as a potential novel type. Despite similarity to oncocytoma or eosinophilic chromophobe renal cell carcinoma, it shows diffuse keratin 7 immunohistochemistry (IHC) and negative KIT (CD117), which differs from both. We aimed identify molecular characteristics these tumours. Seventeen tumours (one male, 16 female, nine previously published) fitting original description this entity (solid morphology, often with areas cells...
Aims Current available data on cytokeratin 7 ( CK 7) immunostaining pattern in the clear cell renal carcinoma RCC ) spectrum is conflicting. The aim of this study was to assess immunoreactivity within neoplasms, including , multicystic neoplasm low malignant potential and papillary ‐like tumours. Methods results We analysed two clones tumour blocks for a total 75 cases divided into five distinct groups: (i) low‐grade (ii) high‐grade (iii) potential, (iv) with cystic changes (v) found highest...
Primary renal well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumour (NET) (hereafter referred to as NET) is rare, with ~100 cases having been reported in the literature. There are also limited data on molecular-genetic background of primary NETs.We analysed 11 NETs by using next-generation sequencing (NGS) identify characteristic genetic aberrations. All tumours were positive for synaptophysin, and expressed insulinoma-associated protein 1 (10/11), chromogranin-A (8/11), CD56 (3/11). Cytoplasmic...
Purpose: To assess the diagnostic value of MR imaging relative to two-phase bone scintigraphy in radiographically negative stress-related injuries. Material and Methods: Sixteen consecutive patients presenting with stressrelated injuries normal standard radiographs were examined scans imaging. protocols varied according region be examined. The scintigraphic images evaluated blindly separately by respectively two radiologists nuclear medicine physicians. reference was represented a...
In addition to “classic” and eosinophilic subtype, chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is well-known demonstrate various morphological patterns including adenomatoid, microcystic, pigmented, multicystic, papillary, neuroendocrine-like, small cell-like, all of which are important appreciate for accurate diagnosis. Herein, we expand on a unique RCC morphology not previously described consisting tumor cells with extensive stromal retraction, mimicking upper urothelial tract micropapillary...
Background and objectives: T regulatory lymphocytes (Treg) are one of the subsets T-lymphocytes involved in interaction neoplastic tumors host immune system, they may impair reaction against cancer. It has been shown that Treg increased peripheral blood patients with various cancers. In colorectal cancer, prognostic role remains controversial. Colorectal cancer is a heterogenous disease, many variations stemming from its primary tumor location. The aim this study to analyse relationship...
Emperipolesis has recently been described as a constant feature of "biphasic squamoid" papillary renal cell carcinoma (BPRCC). We also noticed this in some high-grade (HG) RCC, which promoted the present study to estimate incidence emperipolesis RCCs and describe them further detail. 14 cases HGRCC showing were retrieved from our registry. Microscopic examination filed slides was supplemented with immunohistochemical molecular-genetic analyses using paraffin embedded tissue. 12 patients...
Chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (CHRCC) is known for morphologic variability. Besides classic morphology, several other patterns like pigmented adenomatoid, multicystic, even papillary were documented. 10 cases of CHRCC composed small population in various percentages that analysed using parameters, immunohistochemistry and next generation sequencing. Patients 5 males females with 40-78 age range. Size tumors ranged from 2.2 cm to 11 (mean 5.17 cm). Small component comprised 10-80% total...
