Abstract Muscles are the actuators that drive human movement. However, despite many decades of work, we still cannot readily assess forces muscles transmit during Direct measurements muscle–tendon loads invasive and modeling approaches require assumptions. Here, introduce a non-invasive approach to tendon by tracking vibrational behavior. We first show speed shear wave propagation in increases with square root axial stress. then remarkably simple tensiometer uses micron-scale taps...

Several reduced-order modeling strategies have been developed to create low-order models of geometrically nonlinear structures from detailed finite element models, allowing one compute the dynamic response structure at a dramatically reduced cost. However, parameters these are estimated by applying series static loads model, and quality model can be highly sensitive amplitudes load cases used type/number modes in basis. This paper proposes combine numerical continuation estimate normal...

We report the observation of new properties primary iron (Fe) cosmic rays in rigidity range 2.65 GV to 3.0 TV with 0.62×106 nuclei collected by Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer experiment on International Space Station. Above 80.5 dependence ray Fe flux is identical He, C, and O fluxes, Fe/O ratio being constant at 0.155±0.006. This shows that unexpectedly belong same class which different from Ne, Mg, Si class.Received 2 October 2020Revised 22 November 2020Accepted 9 December...

Measurements are presented from a two-beam structure with several bolted interfaces in order to characterize the nonlinear damping introduced by joints. The measurements (all at force levels below macroslip) reveal that each underlying mode of is well approximated single degree-of-freedom (SDOF) system mechanical joint. At low enough levels, show dissipation scales as second power applied force, agreeing theory for linear viscously damped system. This attributed viscous behavior material...

Continuous Scanning Laser Doppler Vibrometry (CSLDV) methods first appeared in the literature early 1990s and over past three decades they have undergone an evolution terms of procedures applications which constitute a new state-of-the-art now described this review paper. The advances vibration measurement performed by Vibrometers augmented capability measuring data from grid few hundred points to single scan traverses measures at many thousands on same structure. deflection shapes modes can...
