During a COVID-19 outbreak on the Diamond Princess cruise ship we sampled environmental surfaces after passengers and crew vacated cabins. SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in 58 of 601 samples (10%) from case cabins 1-17 days were but not noncase There no difference detection proportion between symptomatic (15%, 28/189; cycle quantification [Cq], 29.79-38.86) asymptomatic cases (21%, 28/131; Cq, 26.21-38.99). No virus isolated any samples. Transmission risk patients may be similar could involved...

ABSTRACT Human infections with influenza A(H5N1) virus in Cambodia increased sharply during 2013. Molecular characterization of viruses detected clinical specimens from human cases revealed the presence mutations associated alteration receptor-binding specificity (K189R, Q222L) and respiratory droplet transmission ferrets (N220K Q222L). Discovery quasispecies at position 222 (Q/L), addition to absence poultry/environmental samples, suggested that occurred infection did not transmit further.
