CLOCK is a positive component of transcription/translation-based negative feedback loop the central circadian oscillator in suprachiasmatic nucleus mammals. To examine CLOCK-regulated transcription peripheral tissues, we performed microarray analyses using liver RNA isolated from Clock mutant mice. We also compared expression profiles with those Cryptochromes (Cry1 and Cry2) double knockout identified more than 100 genes that fluctuated day to night which levels were decreased In...

Sorption coefficients (K(oc) values) of selected endocrine disruptors for a wide variety dissolved organic matter (DOM) were measured using fluorescence quenching and solubility enhancement. 17beta-Estradiol, estriol, 17alpha-ethynylestradiol, p-nonylphenol, p-tert-octylphenol, dibutylphthalate as disruptors. Aldrich humic acid, Suwannee River fulvic acids, Nordic alginic dextran, tannic acid DOM surrogates. The resulting sorption (log K(oc)) independent octanol-water partitioning K(ow)) the...

[Ir(cod)Cl](2)/DPPF or BINAP efficiently catalyzed the cycloaddition of α,ω-diynes with nitriles to give pyridines. The reaction can accommodate a very wide range nitriles. Both aliphatic and aromatic smoothly reacted Ten equivalents unactivated nitrile were enough product in high yield. Aliphatic bearing an acetal amino moiety could be used for reaction. highly regioselective unsymmetrical diyne two different internal alkyne moieties was achieved. observed regioselectivity reasonably...

Neutrophils possess a multicomponent NADPH oxidase system capable of producing large quantities superoxide in process known as the respiratory burst (1). Upon stimulation phagocytic cell, two cytosolic components oxidase, p67(phox) and p47(phax), associate with membrane-bound flavocytochrome b small GTP-binding protein to form functional enzyme complex. Each Phox proteins contains src homology 3 (SH3) domains, which are unknown function but potential mediators protein-protein interactions...

Abstract. The horizontal distribution of radioactive cesium (Cs) derived from the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant (FNPP) in North Pacific is still unclear due to limitation direct measurement seawater open ocean. We present result observation Cs surface collected a broad area western and central July 2011, October 2011 2012. also conducted simple particle tracking experiment estimate qualitative spatial Pacific. 134Cs was detected at 94 stations out 123 stations, 137Cs all stations....

Collective cell migration is involved in many biological and pathological processes. Various factors have been shown to regulate the decision migrate collectively or individually, but impact of cell-extracellular matrix (ECM) interactions still debated. Here, we developed a method for analyzing collective by precisely tuning between cells ECM ligands. Gold nanoparticles are arrayed on glass substrate with defined nanometer spacing block copolymer micellar nanolithography (BCML),...

As described in first part paper, 50 major from 13,396 healthy individuals living were obtained. Analyzed 23 clinical chemistry and 8 measured by immunoturbidimetry. Multiple regression analysis performed each gender, country country, analyte analyte, setting four SVs (age, BMI, levels drinking...

Background: The 2009 Asian multicenter study for derivation of reference intervals (RIs) featured: 1) centralized measurements to exclude reagent-dependent variations; 2) inclusion non-standardized analytes (hormones, tumor makers, etc.) in the target; and 3) cross-check test results between central local laboratories. Transferability centrally derived RIs based on was examined.
