We examined the effects of meal timing on postprandial glucose metabolism, including incretin response and metabolites in healthy adults. Nineteen young men completed two trials involving blood collection a fasting state at 30, 60 120 min after provision random order: (1) morning (~0900 h) (2) evening (~1700 h). The metabolome eight participants was analyzed using capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry. Postprandial concentrations (p = 0.030) glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide...

The meal distribution of proteins throughout the day is usually skewed. However, its physiological implications and effects better protein on muscle volume are largely unknown. Here, using two-meals-per-day feeding model, we find that intake at early active phase promotes overloading-induced hypertrophy, in a manner dependent local clock. Mice fed branched-chain amino acid (BCAA)-supplemented diets demonstrate skeletal hypertrophy. distribution-dependent not observed Clock

Abstract Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease, and dietary modification crucial part of disease management. Okara sustainable source fibre-rich food. Most the valorization research on okara focused more physical attributes instead possible health attributes. The fermentation using microbes originated from food source, such as tea, sake, sufu yoghurt, were explored here. aim this study to investigate fermented functional ingredient reduce blood glucose levels. Many genes are known to be involved in gonadal differentiation vertebrates. <i>Dmrt1</i>, a gene that encodes transcription factor with DM-domain, is considered one of the essential controlling testicular mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. However, it still remains unknown which cells animals other than mice chicks express Dmrt1 protein. For an explanation its role(s) vertebrates, expression protein needs studied. this purpose, we conducted immunohistochemical study...

The effects of L-carnitine on the hemodynamic state chronic hemodialysis patients have been debated. In order to clarify effect administered cardiac function and hypotensive episodes during procedure, a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study was performed for 3 months.TWENTY STABLE OUTPATIENTS UNDERGOING HEMODIALYSIS TREATMENT WERE DIVIDED INTO TWO GROUPS: controls (placebo) treated (L-carnitine 900 mg p.o. daily). After months, reevaluated by echocardiography, were assessed. Free...

Background: Genistein has high estrogenic activity. Previous studies have shown beneficial effects of estrogen or hormone replacement therapy on muscle mass and atrophy. Objective: We investigated the preventive underlying mechanisms genistein Methods: In Expt. 1, male Wistar rats were fed a diet containing no [control (CON)] 0.05% (GEN; wt:wt diet) for 24 d. On day 14, sciatic nerve in left hind leg was severed, right sham-treated. 2, C57BL6J mice subcutaneously administered vehicle (Veh...

The mammalian circadian system is controlled not only by the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), but also peripheral clocks located in tissues such as liver, kidney, small intestine, and colon, mediated through signals hormones. Peripheral clocks, SCN, can be entrained food intake schedules. While it known that cell proliferation exhibits a rhythm colon epithelium, unclear how this influenced Here, we aimed to determine relationships between feeding schedules epithelium means of immunochemical...

BackgroundAtrogin1, which is one of the key genes for promotion muscle atrophy, exhibits day-night variation. However, its mechanism and role variation are largely unknown in a atrophic context.MethodsThe mice were induced atrophy by hindlimb-unloading (HU).
