AimsRecent studies have demonstrated the importance of chromatin remodelling via histone acetylation/deacetylation for control cardiac gene expression. Specific deacetylases (HDACs) can, in fact, play a positive or negative role determining myocyte (CM) size. Here, we report on effect hypertrophy development three inhibitors (HDACi) class I HDACs.
Immunocompromised patients show an impaired vaccine response and remain at high risk of severe COVID-19, despite vaccination. Neutralizing monoclonal antibodies against acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) have been developed for prophylaxis treatment. The combination tixagevimab/cilgavimab (AZD7442) has authorized emergency use as pre-exposure but data on safety efficacy in kidney transplant recipients during the Omicron period are limited.
COVID-19 in kidney transplant recipients is associated with high morbidity and mortality. In this study we aimed to evaluate: (i) the seroconversion rate after BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech) SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, (ii) factors humoral response, (iii) clinical outcome of transplanted patients. We enrolled a cohort 743 followed up from March 2020 until April 2022. A subset 336 patients, who received three-doses was analyzed terms kinetics immune response compared control group 94 healthcare workers....
The acute infection of the CNS by Trypanosoma cruzi acquired blood transfusion is uncommon. concomitance AIDS in patient reported shows importance cellular immunity restriction this parasite, and reinforces problem endemic zones.
Oncologic patients on opioid therapy due to pain may have several side effects, including respiratory depression (in about 1% of cases), pruritus (up 10% nausea 25-32% sedation 20- 60% cases); but the most far-reaching effect 95% cases) that can occur is constipation. The socalled "opioid-induced constipation" (OIC) develop at start and last as long continued use. OIC a real change in intestinal habits occurs when treatment started; it noted with reduced frequency episodes defecation,...
Abstract Background and Aims The organ shortage has led to increase the procurement of kidneys from marginal donors, but risk graft failure is still object debate. aim study assess whether using both clinical histological scores can better for worse outcome organs. Method We analyzed 210 kidney transplant recipients donors aged >50 years. retrospectively calculated Kidney Donor Risk Index (KDRI) each donor we divided population according KDRI (-, if ≤ median; +, > median) score...
Abstract BACKGROUND AND AIMS COVID-19 infection in solid organ transplant recipients (SOT) is associated with increased morbidity and mortality due to comorbidities immunosuppression state (Chaudhry ZS et al, 2020). Although vaccines represent the greatest hope control pandemic, several studies showed low immunogenicity of a two-dose mRNA vaccine regimen SOT as compared general population (Boyarsky BJ 2021). Based on this evidence, September 2021, Italian Medicine Agency (AIFA) authorized...
