Stable chitosan/PVA-based hydrogels were obtained by combining covalent and physical cross-linking methods. As cross-linkers, epoxy agents with different chain lengths used, while freeze-thaw cycles applied for additional cross-linking. The chemical structure of the hydrogel was examined FTIR spectroscopy whereas morphology analyzed SEM, showing well-defined pores dimensions around 50 μm in diameter. It proved that gel fraction network deeply influenced synthesis conditions. Chitosan/PVA...
Overuse of antimicrobials by the population has contributed to genetic modifications in bacteria and development antimicrobial resistance, which is very difficult combat nowadays. To solve this problem, it necessary develop new systems for administration active principles. Biocomposite containing silver nanoparticles can be a good medical alternative. In context, main objective study was obtain complex system form biocomposite film with properties based on chitosan, poly (vinyl alcohol)...
The wound healing process is often slowed down as a result of complications from bacterial infections and inflammatory reactions. Therefore, it necessary to develop dressings with fast antibacterial anti-inflammatory activity that shorten the period by promoting cell migration proliferation. Chitosan (CS)-based hydrogels have been widely studied for their capabilities. Herein, we developed composite hydrogel based on CS PVA embedding silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) properties ibuprofen (Ib) an...
Bacterial oral diseases are chronic, and, therefore, require appropriate treatment, which involves various forms of administration and dosing the drug. However, multimicrobial resistance is an increasing issue, affects global health system. In present study, a commercial amphiphilic copolymer, Pluronic F127, was used for encapsulation 1-(5'-nitrobenzimidazole-2'-yl-sulphonyl-acetyl)-4-aryl-thiosemicarbazide, original active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) previously synthesized characterized...
PVA/chitosan (PVA/CS) composite hydrogels incorporating silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were prepared by double-cross-linked procedures: freeze–thawing and electrostatic interactions. Oxalic acid (OA) was used both for solubilization ionic cross-linking of CS. AgNPs covered CS (CS-AgNPs) with an average diameter 9 nm 18% obtained in the presence CS, acting as reducing agent particle stabilizer. The increase number freeze–thaw cycles, well PVA:CS OA:CS ratios, resulted gel fraction elastic...
Hydrogels are a favorable alternative to accelerate the burn wound healing process and skin regeneration owing their capability of absorbing contaminated exudates. The bacterial infections that occur in wounds might be treated using different topically applied materials, but resistance antibiotics has become major problem worldwide. Therefore, use non-antibiotic treatments represents interest current research. In this study, new antibiocomposite hydrogels with anti-inflammatory antimicrobial...
ABSTRACT Skin defects caused by injuries such as burns that exceed a certain diameter no longer heal spontaneously and require more complex interventions. Hydrogels have received special attention due to their unique ability block the penetration of bacteria into wounds they can absorb contaminated exudates exhibit high degree flexibility. This study is focused on preparation characterization novel antibacterial biocomposite hydrogels based two carbohydrates, alginate hyaluronic acid (HA),...
Local delivery of drugs or antimicrobial agents is a suitable approach in the management periodontitis when infection localized deep pockets and does not adequately respond to mechanical debridement and/or systemic antibiotic treatment. In this context, objective study was prepare new biocomposite films with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, good properties be applied periodontal pockets. The composite film eco-friendly synthesized from poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) cross-linked oxidized...
Over the past two decades, resistance to antibiotics, especially for Gram-negative bacteria, has increased at an alarming rate, requiring constant concern resolving and controlling this extremely important therapeutic aspect in any medical department but particular, Anaesthesia Intensive Care Units, units of neonatology, paediatrics, neurosurgery, burned patients immunosuppressed. Specialists note a particular Enterobacteriaceae third-generation cephalosporins aztreonam, with profile...
Hydrogels based on natural and synthetic polymers inorganic nanoparticles proved to be a viable strategy in the fight against some Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria. Additionally, numerous studies have demonstrated advantages of using ZnO medicine due their high antibacterial efficacy relatively low cost. Consequently, purpose our study was incorporate into chitosan/poly (vinyl alcohol)-based hydrogels order obtain biocomposite with antimicrobial properties. These hydrogels, prepared by...
Recently, nanotechnology research studies have been proven that use of various nanoparticles as drug delivery systems to target and annihilate pathogenic microorganisms may be a good solution for prevention treatment severe infection. In the last few years, antimicrobial encapsulation into nano-sized has materialized promising alternative increased efficacy minimized adverse effects. Physicochemical properties erythromycin-loaded polymer were assessed using particle size distribution, HPLC,...
Modern medicine has a vast set of antibiotics frequently prescribed in therapeutic practice. Beta-lactam are often indicated prophylaxis and treatment bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. This work concerned on analysis antibiotic structure influence resistance knowing that wide variety bacteria developed different mechanism make resistant to some or nearly all antibiotics. The emergence antibiotic-resistant pathogens is relevant area study medical Furthermore,...
Some infectious agents frequently act on human body. Multi-drug resistant microorganisms (MDR) develop the capacity to stabilize biofilms. The use of antimicrobials loaded nanoparticles can defeat antibiotic resistance mechanism. major aim this study was synthesis and physico-chemical characterization Colistin molecules intercalated in order enhance efficacy against multi-drug microorganisms. Advanced techniques were used analyze new nanostructures containing antibiotics improve...
The development of antibiotic resistance in bacteria possesses a huge threat to public health by nullifying the effect even most efficient antibiotics. From years, LDHs type nanomaterials have been used as drug carriers for wide variety pharmaceutically active molecules due their delivery properties, making these inorganic-organic nanohybrids very antimicrobial agents. major purpose this work was synthesize and characterize ceftriaxone intercalated layered nanostructures further use treat...
Novel materials belonging to the class of anionic clays are synthesized by investigating their properties at nano scale. Thus, hydrotalcites or layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were used as drug delivery carriers in order prevent treat infections produced some pathogen agents. Their physical and chemical allow them include different molecules interlayer space then ensure transport target. The current work reveals obtaining nanohybrid compounds type amoxicillin/clavulanic acid-layered...
The usual treatment for tuberculosis is difficult by its long-term therapy, raised dosing frequency and adverse effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs. Anionic clays, also called layered double hydroxides are a class hydrotalcite like structures having high compositional variety being able to self-assembly in the presence drug molecules. work refers development nanohybrid materials delivery systems that intercalates isonicotinic acid hydrazide, known as isoniazid drug, into structure compounds....
Carbapenem antibiotics resistance is a medical threat in antibacterial therapy as the pathogen resistant strains easily evolve multi-drug action to other incurable agents. The protective transport of current antibiotic molecules using nano-carriers initiates huge approach therapy, allowing nanohybrids defeat all these health Chitosan linear cationic polysaccharide being often used area biocompatible encapsulating agent delivery nanosystems. This work refers encapsulation imipenem into...
