Abstract Connexin43 (Cx43) is one of the most abundant gap junction proteins in central nervous system. Abnormal opening Cx43 hemichannels after ischemic insults causes apoptotic cell death. In this study, we found persistently increased expression 8 h to 7 d hypoxia/ischemia (HI) injury neonatal rats. Pre‐treatment with Gap26 and Gap27, two mimetic peptides, significantly reduced cerebral infarct volume. treatment at 24 ischemia improved functional recovery on muscle strength, motor...

Aim: We aim to study the antidepressant mechanism of metformin. Materials & methods: Tail suspension test and forced swimming were used detect depression-like behavior; expressions target protein examined by western blot; levels genes tested quantitative PCR; content α-ketoglutarate 5hmC detected ELISA kit. Results: showed that metformin can improve behavior in spatial restraint stress model; then we found through AMPK/Tet2 pathway increasing expression BDNF antidepression. Conclusion: Our...

Sleep disorders and sarcopenia could contribute to the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD), which are risk factors that rapidly deteriorate cognitive functions. However, few studies have evaluated relationship between sleep in female AD patients, who a higher prevalence than male patients. This study aimed investigate status patients with mild moderate AD.This cross-sectional recruited 112 outpatients aged 60 85 years. Demographic characteristics, appendicular skeletal muscle mass index...

Objective: To investigate the correlation between specific fiber tracts and grip strength cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) by fixel-based analysis (FBA).Methods: AD were divided into low (AD-LGS, n=29) without (AD-nLGS, n=25), along 31 normal controls (NC).General data, neuropsychological tests, cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans collected.FBA evaluated white matter (WM) metrics, including density (FD), crosssectional (FC), cross-sectional area...

Background Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressively worsening cognitive decline and memory loss. Excessive iron accumulation produces severe impairment. However, there are no uniform conclusions about changes in brain content AD. This study aimed to investigate the of deep nuclei AD, its correlation with function. Methods Thirty-one patients mild moderate 17 impairment (MCI), 20 age-, sex-, education-matched healthy controls (HC) were...

Neuromelanin-sensitive magnetic resonance imaging (NM-MRI) technique was used to detect the changes of locus coeruleus (LC) signals in Alzheimer's disease patients (AD), and analyze its correlation with cognitive function.A total 27 AD, 15 mild impairment (MCI), 25 healthy controls (HC) were examined by NM-MRI technique. ImageJ software measure LC signals. The signal contrast ratios (LC-CRs) calculated, along measurement neuropsychological scales. The LC-CRs AD significantly different from...

We investigated the application value of nanocarbon lymphatic tracer in thoraco-laparoscopic esophagectomy.A total 80 patients were enrolled and randomly divided into experimental group (N.=40) control (N.=40). Patients injected with suspension before esophagectomy, while underwent an operation. The lymph node resection was observed after operation. Our results showed that incidence recurrent laryngeal nerve injury less than group. complication rate significantly number black-stained nodes...

We collected diffusion-weighted images of all subjects and divided them into four groups: HC, MCI, mild AD moderate AD. The differences FD, FC FDC were analyzed by FBA method. results showed that the three metrics in group significantly lower than those HC Group, but there was no significant difference MCI Group. This study indicates is a microstructural or macrostructural degeneration white matter patients.
