Circulating proteomic signatures of age are closely associated with aging and age-related diseases; however, the utility changes in secreted proteins identifying therapeutic targets for diseases remains unclear. Serum profiling an age-stratified healthy population further community-based cohort together heart failure patients study demonstrated that circulating C-C motif chemokine ligand 17 (CCL17) level increased correlated cardiac dysfunction. Subsequent animal experiments revealed...

Abstract Background Rare disease patients often experience diagnosis delays or misdiagnosis, which may be due to lack of knowledge on rare diseases among physicians. Objective To assess Chinese physicians’ specific and identify its associated factors. Methods Thirty-four patient organizations with a unique interest were invited develop 3 questions for each the that they felt most experienced in. The total score participant ranged from 0 3. A national cross-sectional study conducted in cohort...

<b><i>Objectives:</i></b> This study aimed to investigate the roles of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) and transforming factor-β1 (TGF-β1) in atrial fibrosis patients with chronic fibrillation. <b><i>Methods:</i></b> Up 40 cases involving simple mitral valve replacement surgery were divided into 2 groups: fibrillation (cAF) group (n = 28) sinus rhythm 12). Echocardiography was used measure...

Abstract Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia nowadays. The occurrence of AF closely associated with obesity. Cadherin‐11 (Cad‐11), as a member cadherin family, can make contribution to diet‐induced obesity and it will be informative know whether Cad‐11 exerts its effects on atrial remodeling vulnerability in model. In this study, we demonstrated that expression was significantly upregulated left atrium patients mice following 16 weeks high‐fat diet (HFD) feeding....

Grassland, as one of the largest ecosystems on earth, supports various goods and services to humanity. Historically, humans have increased agricultural output primarily by cropland expansion intensification. The area was gained at expense grassland forests. Apart from conversion, increasing consumption calorie- meat-intensive diets drives intensification livestock systems, which is shifting steadily grazing feeding with crops. To cope environmental degradation due agriculture, forms 'green...

As the most frequent fungal pathogen in humans, Candida albicans can develop serious drug resistance because its biofilms are resistant to antifungal agents; this leads an urgent need novel antifungals. Here, we evaluated efficacy of antithrombotic drug, suloctidil, against C. vitro and vivo. We found that suloctidil is effective inhibit biofilm, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC80) 4 μg/mL, biofilm inhibiting (BIC80) 16 μg/mL eradicating (BEC80) 64 μg/mL. Furthermore,...

Background and Purpose 9‐Phenanthrol, known as a specific inhibitor of the transient receptor potential melastatin 4 (TRMP4) channel, has been shown to modulate cardiac electrical activity exert antiarrhythmic effects. However, its pharmacological effects remain be fully explored. Here, we tested hypothesis that sodium current inhibition contributes cardioprotective effect 9‐phenanthrol. Experimental Approach Single ventricular myocytes (VMs) Purkinje cells (PCs) were enzymatically isolated...

We demonstrate that relatively high revenue growth prior to an initial public offering (IPO) is associated with IPO prices and poor returns. In particular, low‐growth returns, −1% on a three‐year annualized basis compared −12% (equal‐weighted) or −29% (value‐weighted) for high‐growth new issues. There no evidence the performance differentials reflect risk premia. Rather, firms’ returns are more stable over time. Finally, while analysts’ forecasts upwardly biased all firms, magnitude of this...

Two new type dicoumarins (dicoumaro-p-menthanes), named dibothrioclinins I (1) and II (2) were isolated from the roots rhizomes of Gerbera piloselloides (L.) CASS., collected in Yunnan Province, China. Their structures elucidated on basis MS, 1D (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, DEPT NOE) 2D (1H–1H COSY, HMQC, HMBC) NMR spectral analyses. The relative two compounds established by NOE difference spectroscopy further confirmed single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies.

This article investigates how “systematic” adjustment costs proxied by market imperfections, and macroeconomic conditions affect capital structure dynamics in a cross-country setting. We document substantial variations firms’ adjustments across countries and, particularly, over time. Consistent with impeding firms from rebalancing their structures, worse imperfections are associated slower speeds of (SOA) larger leverage deviations. Intertemporally, is procyclical, SOA increasing 0.9...

Background Extrahepatic biliary duct injury (BDI) remains a complicated issue for surgeons. Although several approaches have been explored to address this problem, the high incidence of complications affects postoperative recovery. As nonimmunogenic scaffold, an animal-derived artificial bile (ada-BD) could replace defect, providing good physiological conditions regeneration autologous structures without changing original anatomical and physiologic conditions. However, due lack of prognosis for forest fire spreading trend in fighting, it is difficult formulate rational effective fire-fighting scheme.
