Contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) occurs in more than 30% of patients after intravenous iodinated contrast media and causes serious complications, including renal failure mortality. Recent research has demonstrated that routine antioxidant alkaline therapy failed to show benefits CI-AKI with high risk for complications. Mitophagy is a mechanism selective autophagy, which controls mitochondrial quality reactive oxygen species (ROS) through degradation damaged mitochondria. The...

The pathogenetic mechanism of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI), which is the third most common cause hospital-acquired AKI, has not been elucidated. Previously, we demonstrated that renal and cell apoptosis were attenuated in nlrp3 knockout CI-AKI mice. Here, investigated underlying NLRP3 inhibition-mediated attenuation CI-AKI. RNA sequencing analysis cortex revealed or casp1 mice exhibited upregulated cellular response to hypoxia, mitochondrial oxidation, autophagy when...

Abstract Single-chirality, single-wall carbon nanotubes are desired due to their inherent physical properties and performance characteristics. Here, we demonstrate a chromatographic separation method based on newly discovered chirality-selective affinity between gel containing mixture of the surfactants. In this system, two different selectivities found: chiral-angle selectivity diameter selectivity. Since chirality is determined by chiral angle diameter, combining these independent leads...

Ultrasonication of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in a monochlorobenzene (MCB) solution poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) enabled us to react SWNTs with MCB or PMMA chemically. After the reacted these organic materials, they turned into ragged (r-SWNTs) many defects sidewall when burned oxygen. We think that sonochemical reaction and materials is simple method functionalize SWNTs.

We show that light-assisted oxidation with hydrogen peroxide effectively and rapidly opens holes in carbon nanohorn walls and, more importantly, creates abundant oxygenated groups such as carboxylic at the hole edges. These reacted protein bovine serum albumin. The obtained conjugates were highly dispersed phosphate-buffered saline taken up by cultured mammalian cells via an endocytosis pathway.
