Catheter ablation is increasingly employed in the management of atrial fibrillation (AF). Data regarding safety AF largely derived from controlled clinical trials. The aim this study was to analyze and complications performed a "real world" setting outside trials, obtain insights on predictors complications. We utilized National Inpatient Sample database, identify all patients who underwent ablations between 2015 2017 using International Classification Disease-Tenth revision codes....

Sufficient data analysis obtained 88 cases, whom 36 had final diagnosis rheumatoid arthritis (19 seropositive, 17 seronegative) and 16 human parvovirus B19 arthropathy. Outcome was assessed by persistence symptoms greater than 24 months functional disability Health Assessment Questionnaire. The SEARCH-RIO study prospectively investigated electrocardiogram (ECG)-derived variables in chronic Chagas disease (CCD) as predictors of cardiac death and new onset ventricular tachycardia (VT). Cardiac arrhythmia is a major cause CCD, electrical markers may play significant role risk stratification. One hundred clinically stable outpatients with CCD were enrolled this study. They initially underwent 12-lead resting ECG, signal-averaged 24-h ambulatory ECG. Abnormal Q-waves, filtered QRS...

Patients with cardiomyopathy of either ischemic or nonischemic origin are at increased risk for malignant ventricular arrhythmias. Normally sustained fibrillation (VF) leads to death very rapidly. We report two patients who remained in VF, supported by a left assist device, prolonged period time. Perfusion pressure through the device was sufficient allow remain awake and responsive several hours while VF. The cases represent longest reported episodes VF recorded implanted such devices.
