Observational studies have suggested that herpesvirus infection increased the risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD), but it is unclear whether association causal. The aim present study to evaluate causal relationship between four infections and AD.We performed a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis investigate active with AD using summary statistics from genome-wide studies. (i.e., chickenpox, shingles, cold sores, mononucleosis) are caused by varicella-zoster virus, herpes simplex virus...
Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is characterized by β-amyloid deposition in cortical and leptomeningeal arterioles, which might result from glymphatic dysfunction. The aim was to explore function CAA using the non-invasive diffusion tensor image analysis along perivascular space method.Sixty-three patients with were prospectively recruited together seventy age- sex-matched normal controls. Mini-Mental State Examination Montreal Cognitive Assessment applied screen global cognitive status....
Chiral mesoporous silica (mSiO2) nanomaterials have gained significant attention during the past two decades. Most of them show a topologically characteristic helix; however, little has been paid to molecular-scale chirality mSiO2 frameworks. Herein, we report chiral amide-gel-directed synthesis strategy for fabrication nanospheres with molecular-scale-like in silicate skeletons. The functionalization micelles amide gels via electrostatic interactions realizes growth molecular configuration...
Brain tumors are one of the major health threats to humans, and their complex pathological features anatomical structures make accurate segmentation detection crucial. However, existing models based on Transformers Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) still have limitations in medical image processing. While proficient capturing global features, they suffer from high computational complexity require large amounts data for training. On other hand, CNNs perform well extracting local but...
Carotid atherosclerosis is a major cause of stroke, but the conclusion about risk factors for carotid still controversial. The aim our present meta-analysis and systematic review was to explore modifiable atherosclerosis. We searched PubMed from January 1962 October 2018 include longitudinal cross-sectional studies. results were pooled using random effects model. Heterogeneity measured by I2 statistic publication bias assessed funnel plots.A total 14,700 articles screened, which 76 with 27...
Data on the association between free-living daytime sunlight exposure and incident dementia are scarce. The objective is to evaluate whether time spent in outdoor light related risk investigate optimal duration varies with clinical parameters.Data were from a prospective cohort of 362,094 UK Biobank participants. A questionnaire survey was conducted how many hours participants outdoors typical summer winter days. restricted cubic spline (RCS) performed explore potential nonlinear...
Transcriptional memory allows certain genes to respond previously experienced signals more robustly. However, whether and how the key proinflammatory cytokine TNF-α mediates transcriptional are poorly understood. Using HEK293F cells as a model system, we report that sustained stimulation induces dependent on TET enzymes. The hypomethylated status of regulatory regions can be inherited, facilitating NF-κB binding robust subsequent activation. A high initial methylation level CpG density...
We systematically characterized plasma protein profiles in cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) using proteomics and identified a hub panel for disease diagnosis risk stratification. A total of 146 patients with probable CAA 128 community-dwelling controls were prospectively enrolled. Plasma samples underwent proteomic analysis, the proteins validated two validation cohorts. Machine learning algorithms applied to construct validate performance circulating panel. 166 differentially expressed...
Tongue diagnosis in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) plays a crucial role clinical practice. By observing the shape, color, and coating of tongue, practitioners can assist determining nature location disease. However, field tongue currently faces challenges such as data scarcity lack efficient multimodal diagnostic models, making it difficult to fully align with TCM theories needs. Additionally, existing methods generally multi-label classification capabilities, challenging simultaneously...
Abstract We recently showed that suppressing cell cycle progression inhibited reactive astrogliosis and promoted neuronal survival in an acute focal cerebral ischemia rat model. However, it remains unclear whether to what extent the beneficial effects of inhibition might also be attributed microglial proliferation cytokine/chemokine production. In this study, we application inhibitor roscovitine before middle carotid artery occlusion (MCAO) production, reduced number cell‐cycle‐related...
Neuroserpin (NSP) reportedly exerts neuroprotective effects in cerebral ischemic animal models and patients; however, the mechanism of protection is poorly understood. We thus attempted to confirm NSP on astrocytes state then explored relative mechanisms. Astrocytes from neonatal rats were treated with oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) followed by reoxygenation (OGD/R). To NSP, we measured cell survival rate, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release; also performed morphological methods, namely...
Summary Background and Purpose Sprawling ( Swl ) is a radiation‐induced mutation which has been identified to have nine base pair deletion in dynein heavy chain 1 (DYNC1H1: encoded by single gene Dync1h1 ). This study investigate the phenotype underlying mechanism of mutant. Methods Results To display mutant mice, we examined embryos homozygous Swl/Swl heterozygous /+) mice their postnatal dorsal root ganglion (DRG) surviving /+ mice. The could survive for normal life span, while only till...
Abstract Background Environmental factors are associated with human longevity, but their specificity and causality remain mostly unclear. By integrating the innovative “exposome” concept developed in field of environmental epidemiology, this study aims to determine components exposome causally linked longevity using Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. Methods A total 4587 exposures extracting from 361,194 individuals UK biobank, exogenous endogenous domains were assessed. We examined...
Mutations in ITM2B have been found to be associated with familial Danish dementia (FDD) and British (FBD). Here, we describe a patient caused by novel p.*267Leuext*11 mutation. The presented dementia, ataxia, deafness, paraplegia. Amyloid PET Tau showed abnormal deposition of amyloid tau protein brain. Summarized from previous 26 FBD FDD cases, the clinical phenotype ITM2B; mutation is different features FDD. Our findings increased genetic knowledge extend ethnic distribution mutations.
